    This Time for Africa, Madrid Wins + Super Smash Bros Draft

    This is episode 2 of our trip across the pond, and we’re currently in Barcelona recording from Parc de Carmel which overlooks the city. On this episode we continue to talk about our travels from Madrid, to Senegal, and then back to Spain to visit Barcelona. While in Senegal we visited Joe’s brother Bradley, and he took us out to a surf spot that required a boat ride to a surf break off of Ngor Island. We hopped straight off of the boat into the water and didn’t touch land again until the boat picked us up, aside for the quick second that Joe stepped on a rock and was left with a (few) surprise gift(s) from a sea urchin.  We also watched the UEFA champions league final in Dakar, Senegal, which was sweet since soccer is so much more popular there than in the US, but with Real Madrid winning, we did have regrets that we had barely missed out on watching it in Madrid.  Finally we talk about the beginning of our time in Barcelona and compare the cities of Barcelona and Madrid.  SUPER SMASH BROS SHOWDOWN: for our draft we create our ultimate SUPER SMASH BROS squads from the original N64 game.     Missed Flights, Madeira Island + A Taylor Swift Concert

    On this episode, we talked about the first leg of our trip across the pond traveling to Madeira island and adventuring the coast of Portugal.  The trip started out with a few travel mishaps but we eventually made it to Madeira island, where we tackled hikes to Pico Areeiro (highest point on Madeira) and Pico Rubio, relaxed on Sexial Beach and in the natural pools of Porto Moniz, explored the fanal forest, and took the Achadas Da Cruz cable car down to the isolated coastal village of Fajã da Quebrada Nova.  We also talk about our time in mainland Portugal, where we spent some time in Lisbon and went to a Paramore and Taylor Swift concert before traveling the coastline.  We began our coastal excursion to the town of Nazare which is famous for having the largest rideable waves in the world, which encouraged us to find our own waves further down the Portugal coastline (albeit our waves were far from large).
