[145] Oh No, Not Again: When You Don't Want to Face Another Medical Crisis

If you've ever thought those words when a new medical concern appeared after years of remission, this episode is for you.   Sometimes the hardest part of facing another possible medical crisis isn't fear of what might happen. It's remembering what happened last time—and feeling exhausted by the possibility of having to go through it all again.   In this honest episode of *Medical Moms Anonymous*, I'm sharing from my own experience as a mom whose daughter has idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome. We'll talk about the emotional weight of renewed medical uncertainty, how past medical trauma can resurface, and why knowing you can face something hard doesn't mean you want to face it again.   We'll also look at Jesus' prayer in Gethsemane in Matthew 26:36–46 and consider what it means to bring God our honest anguish without pretending we're eager for another difficult season.   You can trust God and still pray, "Lord, please, not again."   You can take today's next step without preparing emotionally for every possible tomorrow.   And you don't have to make peace with the whole future today.   **Reflection question:** Am I exhausted by what is happening right now, by what I remember from the last crisis, or by the possibility of having to live through it all again?   If you're a medical mom who is tired of having to be strong, I hope this conversation reminds you that you can bring your weariness to God just as it is.   You're not alone, medical mom.   Find Jessica on IG & Threads: @medicalmom_jessica
