Bill Smith | Why Is Golf So Hard to Quit? | Tuesday Tee Time

What is it about golf that keeps people coming back, even after their worst round? Some people play for fun. Others spend years trying to get better. But for many, golf becomes something they can't imagine giving up. In Episode 110 of Talkin’ St. Pete, Ryan Bogden sits down with Bill Smith, writer of Tuesday Tee Time and editor at Registry Tampa Bay, to talk about his incredible career, his passion for golf, and why the sport means so much to him. After nearly 40 years working with major publications like Time Inc., LIFE, and Golf Magazine, Bill has met some fascinating people, including golf legend Arnold Palmer. And the story he shares about their unexpected encounter is one you won't want to miss. Ryan and Bill also get into how golf is changing, why younger generations are getting hooked, what's happening with the PGA Tour, and how golf continues to grow right here in St. Pete and Tampa Bay. But what makes this conversation interesting is how Bill sees golf beyond the competition. It's a chance to meet people, build friendships, get outside, and disconnect from everyday life. Even after all these years, he's still playing three times a week. So, is golf really that addictive, or is there something more that keeps people coming back? ▶️ Watch Episode 110 of Talkin’ St. Pete with Bill Smith of Tuesday Tee Time and Registry Tampa Bay. 👍 Like, comment, and subscribe for more conversations with the people and businesses shaping St. Pete! ➜ Check out Registry Tampa Bay: https://registrytampabay.com/ ➜ Follow Registry Tampa Bay's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/registrytampabay/ ➜ Bill's Article: https://registrytampabay.com/author/billsmith/ ➜ Follow Ryan Bogden on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ryan.bogden/ ➜ Talkin' St. Pete Website: https://www.talkinstpete.com/ ➜ Talkin' St. Pete Podcast Episodes: https://www.talkinstpete.com/blog ➜ Subscribe to Talkin’ St. Pete on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBLQaOD7_fKqYL_XzXaDN5Q ➜ Interested in being a guest on the show? https://linktr.ee/talkinstpete ➜ Ryan Bogden is a licensed REALTOR®. ➜ Sponsored by Bogden Homes: https://www.bogdenhomes.com #talkinstpete #stpetepodcast #stpete #stpetefl #tampabayflorida

Noah Sain | Have You Been Drinking Sake Wrong? | In Between Days

What do you think of when you hear sake? Maybe hot sake at a sushi restaurant or doing a sake bomb with friends. But there’s a lot more to sake than most people realize. In Episode 109 of Talkin’ St. Pete, Ryan Bogden sits down with Noah Sain, sake sommelier, sake educator, and beverage director and general manager at In Between Days. Noah grew up in St. Pete and has worked in bars and restaurants for years. When he started working at In Between Days, he knew almost nothing about sake. He got so interested in it that he traveled to Toronto to get certified and later went to Japan twice to learn more. Ryan and Noah talk about the things most people want to know. Should sake be hot or cold? Should you sip it or take it like a shot? Why do some bottles taste so different? And can sake really taste good with pizza, cheese, and pasta? They also talk about something bigger: why sake is meant to be shared. In Japan, pouring sake for someone else is part of the experience. You share a drink, eat together, talk, and enjoy the people around you. That same feeling is a big part of In Between Days, a small and unique spot in St. Pete where people come for sake, food, music, and a good night with friends. Noah also shares what it was like growing up in St. Pete and watching the city change over the years. If the only sake you know is hot sake or a sake bomb, this episode might make you want to try it a completely different way. ▶️ Watch Episode 109 of Talkin’ St. Pete with Noah Sain of In Between Days. 👍 Like, comment, and subscribe for more conversations with the people building and shaping St. Pete. ➜ Follow Sake with Noah on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sakewithnoah/ ➜ Follow In Between Days on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/inbetweendays.co/?hl=en ➜ Follow Ryan Bogden on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ryan.bogden/ ➜ Talkin' St. Pete Website: https://www.talkinstpete.com/ ➜ Talkin' St. Pete Podcast Episodes: https://www.talkinstpete.com/blog ➜ Subscribe to Talkin’ St. Pete on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBLQaOD7_fKqYL_XzXaDN5Q ➜ Interested in being a guest on the show? https://linktr.ee/talkinstpete ➜ Ryan Bogden is a licensed REALTOR®. ➜ Sponsored by Bogden Homes: https://www.bogdenhomes.com #talkinstpete #stpetepodcast #stpete #stpetefl #stpetesake

Dr. Chris Slininger & Garrett Bernier | Who Should Control Your Medical Records? | VitalID

Where are all of your medical records right now? Think about every doctor you’ve seen, every blood test, scan, injury, or procedure you’ve had. Could you pull all of that up in one place? In Episode 108 of Talkin’ St. Pete, Ryan Bogden sits down with Dr. Chris Slininger and Garrett Bernier, CEO and COO of VitalID, two military veterans building their healthcare startup here in St. Pete. They’re asking a pretty simple question: If it’s your medical history, why isn’t it actually with you? That takes the conversation into patient owned medical records, why Chris believes looking at health trends could help uncover deeper problems, and what happens as AI gets more involved in healthcare. Because we already have more health data than ever. The real question is whether we actually know what to do with it. ▶️ Watch Episode 108 of Talkin’ St. Pete with Dr. Chris Slininger and Garrett Bernier of VitalID. 👍 Like, comment, and subscribe for more conversations with the people building and shaping St. Pete. ➜ Follow VitalID AI on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vitalid.ai/ ➜ Follow Garrett Bernier on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gjbernier/ ➜ Follow Dr. Chris Slininger on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drchrisslininger/ ➜ Follow Ryan Bogden on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ryan.bogden/ ➜ Talkin' St. Pete Website: https://www.talkinstpete.com/ ➜ Talkin' St. Pete Podcast Episodes: https://www.talkinstpete.com/blog ➜ Subscribe to Talkin’ St. Pete on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBLQaOD7_fKqYL_XzXaDN5Q ➜ Interested in being a guest on the show? https://linktr.ee/talkinstpete ➜ Ryan Bogden is a licensed REALTOR®. ➜ Sponsored by Bogden Homes: https://www.bogdenhomes.com #talkinstpete #stpete #stpetefl #vitalid #healthcare #healthtech #ai

Kevin Clavier & Drey Thomas | Is AI Changing Business in St. Pete? | 1BB Owner’s Club

AI is moving fast, but what happens when it starts doing the work people used to spend hours doing? In Episode 107 of Talkin’ St. Pete, Ryan Bogden sits down with Kevin Clavier and Drey Thomas, co-founders of 1BB Owner’s Club, to talk about AI, entrepreneurship, and what business could look like as technology keeps getting better. For Kevin and Drey, it started with problems they knew firsthand: building a business can get lonely, and creating content can feel like another full-time job. That led them to build 1BB Owner’s Club, bringing entrepreneurs together while using AI to turn podcasts, calls, meetings, emails, and everyday conversations into content. But this conversation goes way beyond content. Ryan, Kevin, and Drey get into AI replacing repetitive work, the future of jobs, why real relationships could become even more valuable, AI assistants, Neuralink, brain implants, and how far all of this could eventually go. If AI gives us more time back, what are we going to do with it? ▶️ Watch Episode 107 with Kevin Clavier and Drey Thomas of 1BB Owner’s Club. 👍 Like, comment, and subscribe for more conversations with the entrepreneurs, business owners, community leaders, and people helping shape St. Petersburg, Florida. ➜ Follow 1BB Owners Club on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/1bbownersclub/ ➜ Follow Ryan Bogden on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ryan.bogden/ ➜ Talkin' St. Pete Website: https://www.talkinstpete.com/ ➜ Talkin' St. Pete Podcast Episodes: https://www.talkinstpete.com/blog ➜ Subscribe to Talkin’ St. Pete on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBLQaOD7_fKqYL_XzXaDN5Q ➜ Interested in being a guest on the show? https://linktr.ee/talkinstpete ➜ Ryan Bogden is a licensed REALTOR®. ➜ Sponsored by Bogden Homes: https://www.bogdenhomes.com #talkinstpete #stpete #stpetelocalpodcast #stpetebusiness #stpetelocal #StPeteCommunity

Dustin LaChance | Is St. Pete’s Growth Changing What Made the City Special?

St. Pete has changed dramatically over the last decade. But as the city keeps growing, are we at risk of losing some of what made people fall in love with it in the first place? In this episode of Talkin’ St. Pete, Ryan Bogden sits down with Dustin LaChance, a St. Pete native, entrepreneur, Chick-fil-A franchisee, former pastor, dad of four, and founder of The Watchman, a men’s community built around brotherhood and having someone who’s got your back. Dustin has watched St. Pete transform firsthand. When he left in 2008, downtown looked completely different. By the time he returned in 2015, the city was changing fast. Young people could afford to move downtown, take chances, start businesses, and become part of the culture that helped make St. Pete what it is today. Now, Dustin worries that the same growth making St. Pete more desirable could also make it harder for those people and local businesses to stay. He and Ryan talk about rising costs, downtown development, housing and condos, the local real estate market, the Rays potentially leaving St. Pete, new development around Tropicana Field, and whether the city can continue growing without losing its local character. But Dustin’s story goes much deeper than St. Pete’s growth. At 19, he tracked down the phone numbers of Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy and Dan Cathy and kept calling because he wasn’t afraid to hear no. That persistence got Chick-fil-A’s attention, eventually led to a corporate role, and helped put him on the path to becoming a Chick-fil-A franchisee at just 21 years old. Dustin also shares why he became a pastor, how an idea with no real event experience turned into a night at Tropicana Field with Tim Tebow and 22,000 people, and what happened when his own life took a difficult turn. After going through a divorce, Dustin found himself isolated and dealing with depression. One night at a St. Pete run club made him realize that if he could feel that alone after years of having a strong community around him, there had to be other men going through difficult seasons without anyone in their corner. That experience helped inspire The Watchman and its mission of helping men “find their 6”, people they can depend on, be real with, and go through life alongside. Ryan and Dustin also get into purpose, money, success, faith, AI, the future of work, and why real human connection may become even more important as technology becomes a bigger part of everyday life. Dustin shares what he learned as a pastor about wealth and happiness, why he believes purpose and community matter more than what you own, and why sometimes the people around you matter more than whether you’re sitting at Starbucks or on a yacht in Italy. From becoming a Chick-fil-A franchisee at 21 to building community in St. Pete, navigating failure and success, taking bigger risks, and watching his hometown transform, this conversation is ultimately about what makes a life, and a city worth building. Do you think St. Pete can keep growing without losing what made it special? 👍 Like, comment, and subscribe for more conversations with the entrepreneurs, business owners, community leaders, and people helping shape St. Petersburg, Florida. ➜ Follow Dustin LaChance on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dustinlachance/ ➜ Follow Ryan Bogden on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ryan.bogden/ ➜ Talkin' St. Pete Website: https://www.talkinstpete.com/ ➜ Talkin' St. Pete Podcast Episodes: https://www.talkinstpete.com/blog ➜ Subscribe to Talkin’ St. Pete on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBLQaOD7_fKqYL_XzXaDN5Q ➜ Interested in being a guest on the show? https://linktr.ee/talkinstpete ➜ Ryan Bogden is a licensed REALTOR®. ➜ Sponsored by Bogden Homes: https://www.bogdenhomes.com #talkinstpete #stpete #stpetelocalpodcast #stpetebusiness #stpetelocal #StPeteCommunity
