Olivia Sperber - Winds, Waves & Worries Interview

Olivia Sperber on the Song That Turns Anxiety Into Hope Sitting beside a creek during a prayer walk at summer camp, Olivia Sperber found the words that would become Winds, Waves and Worries. What started as a quiet moment with God grew into a song about anxiety, fear, and learning not to let every worry take control. Olivia joins Matthew Rix to share the story behind the new single “Winds, Waves & Worries”, why its message is so personal, and how it represents a bigger, bolder, and more confident chapter in Olivia’s music. She opens up about the all-or-nothing mindset and fear of failure that held her back for years, and how this song became both a creative breakthrough and a reminder that not every worry gets to stay forever. We discuss her studio experience this time around, including recording in Nashville with producer Taylor Bialy, learning to adapt to new collaborators, and leaning into a more upbeat folk-pop sound that feels very different from her earlier single, “Dare to Have Faith”. Matthew also tees up what’s next, from the music video dropping alongside the song to new merch, more recorded tracks waiting in the wings, and bigger projects Olivia says have been on her heart for a long time. Olivia also gets real about how she manages anxiety now: prayer, grounded routines, Scripture, trusted people who know her story, and the courage to stop hiding behind a “perfect” version of herself. If you need encouragement, a faith-forward perspective on mental health, or want to hear an artist stepping into her voice with more conviction, this conversation will stay with you. #oliviasperber #christianmusic #ccm #newartist #newsingle

    Scout & The Saints Interview

In this interview, Matthew Rix sits down with Scout from Scouts & The Saints for a real, no polish conversation about faith, family, and loud guitars. If the band looks familiar, that’s because you’ve probably seen them backing up Mac Powell on tour. Scout is his daughter, and growing up in a music business household shaped both her faith and her calling. But this isn’t about riding anyone’s coattails. Scouts & The Saints are building their own lane, fueled by conviction, sweat, and a sound that’s unapologetically rough around the edges. They talk about why the band exists in the first place: to bring Jesus to people who might never step foot in a church, to meet crowds where they are, and to prove that Christian rock doesn’t have to be clean-cut or comfortable. Scout opens up about what it was like growing up around stages, buses, and backstage prayer circles, and how that upbringing sharpened her understanding of both the beauty and the cost of a life in music. The conversation also looks ahead. New music, bigger stages, and a clear sense of purpose drive what’s next for the band. One thing is certain: the future is loud, honest, and faithful. This is the story of the greatest and dirtiest Christian rock band to come out of Georgia, and they’re just getting started. #scoutandthesaints #macpowell #thirdday #christianmusic #ccm

He also breaks down how the band managed to write, record, and release nine singles in 2025, pulling back the curtain on the process that keeps their momentum going. The two dig into Crazy & The Brains’ U.S. tour with The Casualties, the influence that tour had on the band’s sound and drive, and why coming out of New Jersey shapes their work ethic in a big way. It’s a fast, honest look at one of the hardest-working punk bands out there. Tune in and catch up with Chris Jesus as he charts the band’s growth, grit, and nonstop energy. #CrazyAndTheBrains #ChrisJesus #MatthewRixPodcast #PodcastInterview #PunkRock #Rancid #TimArmstrong #HellcatRecords #TheCasualties #USTour #NewJerseyMusic #IndiePunk #PunkScene #MusicDiscovery #BandInterview
