What the Heck Is a 1031 Exchange?

Today’s episode is What the Heck Is a 1031 Exchange? Episode Number 002. We’ll talk about: 1. The general overview of a 1031 exchange transaction. 2. Critical dates and timing of a 1031 exchange transaction. The specific rules for a proper 1031 Exchange can be found in the IRS Internal Revenue Code under Title 26, Subtitle A, Chapter 1, Subchapter O, Part 3, in 1031 Exchange. Cornell University has a good write up about this code.
