The Nigerian '90s Child: Born Into Promises

On this first episode, we walk down memory lane. The optimism with which it all started, our democracy. The promises that were carefully presented on paper and the anticipation for a better life. Then the storm of bad and corrupt leadership blew it all away. But there comes a child, the child of the 1990s who was born in the euphoria of the great promises. But unfortunately caught up in the reality of his environment, which is far from what he was promised. His childhood was stolen, his teenage years full of struggles and his adult life filled with confusion. He must find his place, he is a hard worker but so is his reality, fighting hard to keep him down. The '90s child was promised so much but given nothing. He is caught up in hard work and disappointment while hoping that grace finds him. I sympathize with every child born in the 1990s that have never witnessed a truly working Nigeria.

    CMWS SEASON 2 INTRO

This is an introduction into the new season of our podcast, Counting Minutes with Sam. We roll back the dice to the days of high hopes and promises of a great nation, counting down to the despair that has overrun the atmosphere and minds of her citizens. Nigeria promised so much, not just to her citizens but to the rest of the world. But in a masterfully designed disaster format, it has failed woefully to live up to her promises. Nigeria as a country in itself has been a victim of bad leadership which has led to the current state of her ruins. This new season takes a look at the generation that were born during those eras of great promise and the current state of the nation and how it has changed the trajectory of many.

    Faith in the impossible

This is the first episode in the "Keep Believing" series. Faith is the unwavering believe in the seemingly impossible. In the wake of many challenges and difficulties, only the man with faith can consistently fight doubt and continue in his quest to achieving his goals. Faith has not just it's roots from the religious background, but also a general term in all facets of life. Entrepreneurs are a group of people who are known for their level of unwavering belief in their dreams and ideas which every other person terms "crazy". This also is the case with the example posited in this episode, the blind Bartimaeus example. This episode strives to encourage all to be steadfast in their firm belief and never give in to the darkness of doubt. But to allow the light of faith to always dispel the darkness of doubt and fear.

Hope In The Midst of Hopelessness

In this episode, I reviewed the state of hopelessness currently being experienced after all the events of the last elections. But in the gloomy state of things, there is always hope lurking around the corner. The sole aim of this episode is to cheer up the youths, thank them for giving it their best in the pursuit of changing Nigeria. Also to remind them not to give up hope, but to keep striving with faith until a new Nigeria is achieved.

    GRATITUDE

On this episode, I x-ray the need for one to be grateful for whatever process or encounter life throws at you. The need to one to appreciate the growth process and also appreciate the current level of progress in order to be able to take the lessons and forge ahead to the next level. Each level prepares us for the next!
