How To Go Scared When God Is Calling You To More: Walking Away From What Feels Safe.

Join the Bible Study Community with the link here! https://withme.so/gatherthegals Have you ever had God close a door that wasn't bad? It was comfortable. It was safe. Maybe you even loved it. But deep down, you knew God was asking you to loosen your grip. In this episode, I'm sharing the very personal story behind walking away from my pediatric nursing career after 10 years and why sometimes the hardest things to surrender aren't the bad things. They're the good things we've started depending on for security. I'm taking you back to where Gather the Gals began: postpartum, COVID, anxiety, loneliness, and a quiet prompting from God that if I couldn't find the community I desperately needed, maybe He was asking me to create it. But the vision didn't happen overnight. Years passed. Babies came. Life changed. I continued nursing. Gather continued growing. And eventually I found myself trying to carry motherhood, work, ministry, family schedules, and a calling I knew God was asking me to take seriously. Then the door started closing. And I had to decide: Do I keep fighting to hold onto something good because it makes me feel safe, or trust the God asking me to let it go? If you're in a season where God seems to be closing a door before showing you what's on the other side, this episode is for you. Scripture: Joshua 1:9 🤎 A question to sit with this week:Is there something good I'm holding onto because it makes me feel secure, even though God may be asking me to release it? And remember: delay does not mean the dream was wasted. God can use every season leading up to your yes. 💕 Looking for women to grow in Jesus with? When God Delays the Call: What Christian Women Need to Hear Right Now If You Are In The Waiting Season

Join the Bible Study Community with the link here! https://withme.so/gatherthegals What If the Delay Is God’s Protection, Not Rejection? What do you do when you thought life would look completely different by now? You prayed. You planned. You believed God was leading you in a certain direction, and then came the closed door, the diagnosis, the disappointment, the unanswered prayer, or another season of waiting. In this episode, we’re talking about what it looks like to trust God when His timeline doesn’t match yours and you can’t understand why He hasn’t moved yet. We’ll dig into John 10:10 and the reality that the enemy wants to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came so that we could have life and have it abundantly. And sometimes what feels like rejection may actually be God's protection. Sometimes the closed door is redirection. Sometimes the waiting season is doing something in you that you couldn't see while you were begging God to get you out of it. Your setback does not mean God has abandoned the story. Your disappointment does not mean He isn't good. And your delay does not automatically mean His answer is no. God sees what you cannot see. He knows what's behind the door you're asking Him to open. He knows what you're not ready for yet. He knows what needs to happen first. And He knows exactly how this chapter fits into the story He's writing. Scripture: John 10:10 🤎 A question to sit with this week:What if I stopped viewing this waiting season as God withholding something from me and started asking Him what He wants to show me through it? And another one worth journaling: Where have I mistaken God's “not yet” for His rejection? 💕 Looking for women to grow in Jesus with? What If the Delay Is God’s Protection, Not Rejection?

Join the Bible Study Community with the link here! https://withme.so/gatherthegals When the Waiting Season Feels Like the Wilderness Have you ever looked at your life and thought, “God, I really thought I would be further along by now”? You thought the prayer would have been answered. The door would have opened. The dream would have grown. The situation would have changed. But instead… you're still waiting. In this episode, I’m sharing the story of a flower I planted that took two years to finally bloom and the reminder God gave me through it: Just because you can't see growth doesn't mean nothing is growing. Some seasons feel like the wilderness. They're quiet. Uncomfortable. Lonely. And when nothing seems to be changing, it can be easy to assume God isn't moving. But what if He's doing some of His deepest work under the surface? We're talking about how to keep trusting God when life isn't unfolding the way you planned, how to recognize the distractions that try to steal your confidence and joy, and why your weakness does not disqualify you from being used by God. Maybe you don't need to dig up what God planted just because it hasn't bloomed yet. Maybe you need to keep watering it. Keep praying. Keep showing up. Keep obeying. Keep believing that God is working—even here. Because the wilderness isn't proof that God has forgotten you. And a season that looks unproductive to you may be producing something you'll need for where He's taking you next. Scripture: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 🌸 A question to sit with this week:What have I been tempted to give up on simply because I haven't seen it bloom yet? And ask yourself: What might God be growing beneath the surface of this waiting season? 💕 Looking for women to grow in Jesus with? Pink Stork Founder Amy Upchurch Talks about Faith, Fertility, Motherhood & Building a Purpose Driven Brand

Join the Bible Study Community with the link here! https://withme.so/gatherthegals In this episode of Gather the Gals, host Lyncon Martinez talks with Amy Upchurch, founder and CEO of Pink Stork, about the personal pain, faith, and perseverance that led her to build a women’s wellness brand. Amy shares how her severe pregnancy complications, a growing conviction about women’s health, and a calling to serve others turned her story into purpose. We also discuss the tension many moms feel between calling, family, work, and obedience, and why faith, education, and community matter so much in both motherhood and business. Key topics Amy shares how growing up athletic and being told as a teen that she likely could not have children shaped her early perspective on motherhood. She describes her first pregnancy, when she was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarumAmy explains how that season challenged and deepened her faith, moving belief into action when the experts said one thing and she sensed God saying another.Lyncon and Amy connect over motherhood, postpartum isolation, and the pressure moms feel to do everything alone while still being “strong.”The conversation turns to women’s health education, including the importance of understanding ingredients, methylated folate, and the MTHFR gene mutation in prenatals.Amy emphasizes that faith and wellness should not be separated, and that caring for the body is part of honoring the life God gave us.Lyncon shares how her own ministry idea kept surfacing for years before she finally said yes, showing how calling often arrives as a repeated nudge rather than a dramatic moment. Both women encourage listeners not to let fear, comparison, or a lack of experience keep them from stepping into what God is calling them to do.
