How Roku Is Starting A War With YouTube

Roku is silently building out their presence in the creator community, and no one is taking notice. Could we have a YouTube (TV) killer lurking in the shadows? A few weeks ago, Roku announced that they are partnering with Jellysmack to feature 17 creators on a native streaming channel. But the creator support from Roku doesn't stop there. Last week, Roku announced that it will partner with Rhett & Link of Mythical to bring 24/7 streaming of Mythical content. 🤯 Now, my napkin math says that they can stream Mythical's content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for just under a month (and that's without any ad breaks). Seems to me like that particular content will take a while to get stale, and that's before Roku adds even more creator giants to their table (like I predict they will). To me, the addition of Jellysmack's creators as well as the Mythical content library to Roku's roster is a massive sign for creators to start looking at Roku's developments. It's clear that this brand is doubling down on the value that creators and their brands can bring. So what can you bring to them? I'm super intrigued by Roku's developments in this realm, and as more people begin to purchase the inexpensive televisions instead of a brand such as Samsung or LG (I've personally used Roku TVs for years), I believe we will see the brand continue to build out this branch that showcases content creators.  Like this video? AI and Its Impact on the Creator Economy

AI this AI that, I know I know, you're probably sick of it. But I wanted to take a moment to cover some of the biggest AI updates for you this week. Snapchat & Meta both introduced some computer buddies for you to chat with.  This week, Snapchat announced 'My AI' and Meta teased 'AI Personas.'  Snapchat's 'My AI' is currently available for Snapchat+ subscribers ($3.99/month). This bot will live in your friend list, waiting for you to talk to it..... Yea, creepy, I agree... But it gets weirder. Snap CEO Evan Spiegel mentions that the main reasoning behind this is that “in addition to talking to our friends and family every day, we’re going to talk to AI every day.” My reaction to this statement: "🙃" So yea, Snap is rolling out their AI buddy, and at the same time, Meta announces their own AI integration for WhatsApp and Messenger called 'AI Personas.' Now, the details weren't laid out on this one at all, but Zuck is seemingly hopping on the bandwagon so he doesn't get left behind (classic).  What we do know about this is that Meta will be focusing on AI to explore "creative and expressive tools," and to make things even more blanketed, they want to create "AI personas that can help people in a variety of ways." The rise of AI and the releases of these new systems are bound to either disrupt industries, or make people stray away from certain platforms based on the way they utilize their AI systems.  What do you think of the rise of AI? Can it be a tool for creators to develop ideas? Will we see people engaging more with their Snapchat AI buddy rather than their IRL friends? So many questions to be answered and with this tech evolving so rapidly, how will this continue to effect creators and the general public?  Like this video? Drop us a like! Should Influencers be Responsible for Scams?

When Hasan Piker was raising money for the earthquake in Turkey, streamer IShowSpeed went to donate tens of thousands of dollars. He then decided not to donate the money because one of his viewers claimed that Hasan was only raising money as a scam. Now, the drive raised well over $1M, but this scenario pushes an important question into the spotlight, are influencers responsible for scams they run into? Short answer, yes, absolutely; but the other side of this answer can lead to. moments like this, people wanting to genuinely do good, but are scared to do so because of the implications of such a large sum of money. What do you think influencers can do to save themselves from getting caught in a potential scam? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! Like this video? Drop us a like!
