DURING EZRA’S TIME A HEATHEN KING HAD GRANTED SPECIAL FAVORS TO THE PRIESTS AND LEVITES BUT STILL THEY DECIDED NOT TO GO TO CANAAN, BECAUSE OF THE LOVE OF COMFORT THEY WERE ENJOYING WHILE IN EXILE. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR ONE TO BE IN THE MINISTRY YET GOING NOWHERE! Ezra 7:24 Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them. Ezra 8:15 And I gathered them together to the river that runneth to Ahava; and there abode we in tents three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi. IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT THE CHURCH HAS BEEN INVADED BY LOVERS OF MONEY MORE THAN LOVERS OF GOD! WHEN THEY COME TO CHURCH THEY SEE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES AND NOT CHRIST AND HIM CRUCIFIED. Micah 3:11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us. Philippians 3:17-19 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)     Ezra: Hope Through Confession of Our Sins‼️ By Pastor and Mrs Chifamba SIN AND ITS PLEASURES WILL NEVER GIVE YOU PEACE OR REST UNTIL YOU TURN TO JESUS THE SINNER’S ONLY HOPE Isaiah 57:20-21 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. 21There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. Psalm 42:1 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.  Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Micah 7:7-8 Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. 8¶Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.  Ezra 9:5-6 And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God, 6And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.  Proverbs 28:13  He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Psalm 32:1-5 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. 3When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. 4For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. 5I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.  David’s repentance was sincere and deep. There was no effort to palliate his crime. No desire to escape the judgments threatened, inspired his prayer. But he saw the enormity of his transgression against God; he saw the defilement of his soul; he loathed his sin. It was not for pardon only that he prayed, but for purity of heart. David did not in despair give over the struggle. In the promises of God to repentant sinners he saw the evidence of his pardon and acceptance. - (Patriarchs and Prophets p. 725) Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.  Micah 7:18-19 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 19He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

YET THE BIBLE RECORDS MANY INSTANCES OF ABUSE OF OFFICE. Hebrews 5:4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. Ezra 10:18-19 And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah. 19And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their trespass.     Ezra: Disappointed 😢 by Leaders of Worship (Part 1) By Pastor and Mrs Chifamba THE TRIBE OF LEVI WAS KNOWN TO STAND UP FOR THE RIGHT AND THE CAUSE OF GOD, THEY WERE LEADERS IN WORSHIP BUT THEY DISAPPOINTED EZRA BIG TIME. Exodus 32:26 Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. Numbers 18:6 And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Numbers 18:21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Ezra 8:15 And I gathered them together to the river that runneth to Ahava; and there abode we in tents three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi. Ezra had expected that a large number would return to Jerusalem, but the number who responded to the call was disappointingly small. Many who had acquired houses and lands had no desire to sacrifice these possessions. They loved ease and comfort and were well satisfied to remain. Their example proved a hindrance to others who otherwise might have chosen to cast in their lot with those who were advancing by faith. – {Prophets and Kings p. 612.2} WE ARE TO FOLLOW OUR RELIGIOUS LEADERS ONLY AS THE FOLLOW CHRIST AND HIS WORD. 1 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬ “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”‬ Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. Psalm 146:3-6 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. 4His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. 5Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: 6Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever.     Ezra: A Sincere Teacher of the Word (Part 2) By Pastor and Mrs Chifamba THE TRAGEDY OF THE CHURCH TODAY IS INSINCERE TEACHERS, WHO CONFIDENTLY AND EXCITABLY PREACH HUMAN THEORIES AND PHILOSOPHIES NOT BASED ON THE WORD OF GOD! “IT IS WRITTEN, THUS SAYS THE LORD” IS LAMENTABLY MISSING FROM THEIR DISCOURSES. THEY ARE GIRDING ON STRANGE SWORDS AND LIGHTNING STRANGE FIRES 🔥  ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ ‭GNT‬‬ “They want to be teachers of God's law, but they do not understand their own words or the matters about which they speak with so much confidence.” EZRA THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD TAUGHT PRIESTS AND PEOPLE TO LIVE HOLY LIVES Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Nehemiah 8:5-6 And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up: 6And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. It would have been much better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than to know it and then turn away from the sacred command that was given them. What happened to them shows that the proverbs are true: “A dog goes back to what it has vomited” and “A pig that has been washed goes back to roll in the mud.”” ‭‭ 1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light

Matthew 23:1-3 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: 3All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. Ezra 7:10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments. ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:12-13‬ ‭GNT‬‬ “Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for the believers in your speech, your conduct, your love, faith, and purity. Until I come, give your time and effort to the public reading of the Scriptures and to preaching and teaching.” Colossians 4:17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
