Reworlding

Ella Cotterell

The Reworlding podcast exists for those who feel the growing volatility and dissonance of living inside systems that were never designed for their bodies, their lives, or their ways of knowing. It is an invitation to see differently, to question what has been normalised, and to imagine what becomes possible when we stop trying to survive broken architectures and begin designing new ones. Each episode explores two questions: what world are we building, and how do we live it now?

Matriarchy for Planetary and Personal Wellbeing with Hannah Phang

In this episode I’m joined by Hannah Phang, co-founder of The Now Work, a platform and consultancy connecting organisations with independent sustainability specialists and purpose-built teams, and a writer and practitioner exploring embodied leadership, resilience, and systems change.  This conversation focuses on what sustainability means, the difference between sustainability and regeneration, and why the climate crisis cannot be separated from the ways our organisations, economies, and societies are structured. We explore the limitations of conventional approaches to climate action and what happens when we begin to question the inherited models of work that treat people as units of labour rather than whole, living beings.  Hannah and I also discuss the relationship between our disconnection from our bodies and our disconnection from the natural world, and what embodiment might offer us as a pathway towards more sustainable ways of living and working. We also explore matriarchy, power, and the possibility of a different social system, exploring what it might mean to move beyond hierarchical and extractive models of leadership towards collective care, interdependence, and structures designed to hold complexity.  This is a conversation about the deeper internal and systemic work required to create a future that supports the flourishing of people and the planet.  You can watch the episode here!
