The Meaning of Life: What Are You Building Your Identity On?

Many of us build our identity on what we do: our job, our role as a parent, our accomplishments, our good behavior, or the labels we've carried for years. But what happens when that thing changes, falls apart, or never quite satisfies? This message explores how the two ways we try to find meaning, moral performance and self-discovery, can both leave us empty, and what it looks like to build your identity on the mercy and grace of God instead. Whether you grew up in church, are exploring faith for the first time, or are simply asking big questions about purpose, this message is for you. We also look at how your identity shapes the way you give and the way you love, and walk through Arthur Brooks' framework for meaning: coherence, purpose, and significance. Scripture: Luke 18:9-14

How Does God Really Love You? (3 Things You're Missing)

70% of people don't feel loved, even by the people who love them. So what happens when we don't feel it? We perform. We people-please. We guard up. But Jesus points us to a different kind of love in John 15, one we don't have to earn or prove. In this message, Sarah breaks down three ways the Father loves the Son, and what it means for how Jesus loves you: He delights in you, He is present with you, and He glorifies you. When we understand this love, we stop striving for it and start abiding in it, and that changes how we love everyone around us. If you've ever felt like love is something you have to earn, this message is for you. John 15:9-12

    What You Don't See

A successful man built bigger barns, planned an early retirement, and Jesus called him a fool. In this message from our Theology of Money series, Doc unpacks the Parable of the Rich Fool and asks a hard question: does Christ mean as much to you as your favorite team, your favorite candidate, or your favorite cause? We've all been given a gift of abundance, but most of us have never stopped to define what "enough" actually looks like. Doc walks through what it means to be rich toward God, why leisure alone never satisfies the soul, and practical ways to become a generous, fully funded partner in what God is doing. #ParableOfTheRichFool #Generosity #ChristianGiving #FaithAndFinances #SermonSeries #RichTowardGod Scripture reference: Luke 12:13-21

Who Do You Say I Am? The Question That Changes Everything

Before you can fix your finances, your marriage, or your future, you have to answer one question first: who do you say Jesus is? In this message, Sarah shares the story of how a season of debt, a young marriage under pressure, and one piece of advice from her dad reshaped how she and her husband Jacob approached money, intention, and faith. Drawing from Luke 9, she unpacks why Jesus's question to His disciples is still the most important question we can wrestle with today, and how surrendering that question first changes how we budget, give, parent, and live. This is week 2 of our Theology of Money series, exploring what it looks like to live generously, intentionally, and surrendered in every area of life, starting with our finances. If you're new here or exploring faith for the first time, you're welcome exactly as you are. This is a place to bring your questions. #WhoDoYouSayThatIAm #FinancialFreedom #ChristianLiving #Budgeting #Discipleship #FaithAndFinances #RealPeopleRealFaithRealLife Scripture: Luke 9:18-25

Why You'll Never Have Enough (Until You Define It)

King Ahab had everything a person could want — and it still wasn't enough. In this message, we look at the story of Ahab and Naboth's vineyard and ask a question our culture rarely asks: what does "enough" actually mean for your life? Doc walks through Ahab's descent into selfish greed, the murder of an innocent man over a vineyard, and how one moment of humility changed the course of his story. From there, we unpack what it looks like to define enough for yourself — how contentment starts on the inside, why moving the goalpost keeps you from ever feeling satisfied, and how comparing ourselves to those above us robs us of gratitude. This is the first message in a new series on the theology of money, exploring what Scripture says about contentment, generosity, and living a life that isn't ruled by the pursuit of more. If you've ever felt like you're chasing a finish line that keeps moving, this message is for you. #TheologyOfMoney #Contentment #Generosity #ChristChurchOhio #SermonSeries #BiblicalFinance #KingAhab #FaithAndMoney Scripture: 1 Kings 21; 1 Timothy 6:6; 2 Corinthians 9:8

What Should We Do? Peter's Answer to a Changed Life | Acts 2

When Peter finished preaching on the day of Pentecost, the crowd's hearts were cut and they asked him one question: what should we do? In this final message of "The Origin of the Church" series, Doc walks through Peter's answer — repent, be baptized, receive forgiveness, and receive the Holy Spirit — and what it means for us to actually live that out today. This isn't just a history lesson about the early church. It's an invitation to ask the same question the crowd at Pentecost asked: if I really believe in the risen Christ, what should I do with my life? Doc unpacks what real repentance looks like, why baptism is an identity marker, how forgiveness sets us free from the past, and what it means to receive the same Holy Spirit that empowered the church nearly 2,000 years ago — a promise that's still for us, and for our children. Whether you're new to faith or you've been walking with Jesus for years, this message is a call to let the gospel do more than inform your thinking — let it change your heart, your identity, and your future. Who Do You Want to Be? | The Story of Zacchaeus | Luke 19

We all know the question "what do you want to be when you grow up?" — but there's a deeper one worth asking: who do you want to be? In this message, Rachel Wellman digs into the story of Zacchaeus, the short, wealthy, widely-disliked tax collector who climbed a tree just to catch a glimpse of Jesus. What happens next changes everything he believed about his own identity. Jesus didn't call Zacchaeus by his reputation — he called him by name. And that's true for you too. Before anyone else ever labeled you, judged you, or defined you, God knew you and formed you with intention. Your past, your mistakes, your titles — none of it gets the final word. If you've ever felt like just another face in the crowd, or like you have to get your life together before you can come to God, this message is for you. You don't have to earn his love. You just have to show up. Luke 19:1-10 Psalm 139:13 Romans 3:23 John 3:16
