    ‘I am cringe, but I am free’ - words to live by! In this episode we talk about collective resilience, body doubling, journalling, and writing a book as a way to escape. I am joined by Elspeth Wilson. Elspeth is a Scottish writer, poet, and creative facilitator whose work explores the body, nature, neurodivergence, and what it means to feel at home - in ourselves and in the world. Her debut poetry pamphlet, Too Hot to Sleep, is published by Written Off Publishing and was shortlisted for the Saltire Society’s 2023 Poetry Book of the Year. Her debut novel, These Mortal Bodies, is out now. It is described as "the perfect combination of sinister, nostalgic and glamorous".     Ep 72 - Urmi Hossain - Author of Discovering Your Identity: A Rebirth from Interracial Struggle

    "I always felt like I was misplaced, that I did not belong to any types of groups, especially in my peer groups." Have you ever felt like you were living a life according to what someone else wanted? How do we develop resilience in the midst of feeling like we don't belong? Today we speak to Urmi Hossain who shares her story. Urmi is a woman who wears many hats.; Urmi is a self-published author, speaker, blogger, polyglot, mentor, and holder of the CFA ( Chartered Financial Analyst) and CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) designations. She works in the financial services industry in Canada, where she lives. Her first book, Discovering Your Identity: A Rebirth from Interracial Struggle, reflects her journey as a third-culture kid. Passionate about women’s empowerment, Urmi is the Social Media Lead for Women in Leadership’s Victoria Chapter and the Campaign Manager at Femme Influence. She is a big proponent of learning and self-development; one of her passions is public speaking. She has been part of the Toastmasters club since 2019, serving as both VP of Education and President. In her free time, she enjoys reading thriller and mystery books and working out such as boxing, HIIT workouts, and running. Chris Tamdjidi offers a fresh approach of how looking at resilience, not as enduring, but as moving between states, can ensure we focus on the skills that will help us. Chris is the co-founder and Director of Awaris.  Chris has spent the last 15 years focusing on Leadership development especially in the fields of resilience, authentic leadership and personal transformation.  As a Director of Awaris, Chris leads over 300 projects per year with global companies like BMW, Audi, Bosch, Unilever, HSBC, Lloyds, Loreal etc on transforming team and leadership culture. He is the co-author of the book “The Resilient Culture”.  Prior to this he worked for 7 years with the The Boston Consulting Group in the Munich, Kuala Lumpur and London offices. There he led projects in the automotive industry, the construction industry and consumer goods industries.     How can we start to get over trauma? In this episode Dr Cortman explains how we can get over the worst thing ever to happen to us and live a better life. Dr. Chris Cortman is a psychologist based in Florida, with over 40 years of experience in the field. He has facilitated upwards of 85,000 hours of psychotherapy and specializes in treating emotional trauma, anxiety, and depression. As well as being in private practice he is a well-known author and speaker.     Ep 67 - Paul Besley - Writer who talks about resilience in a life-changing diagnosis

The book focusses on his training and work with his search dog Scout, but ultimately is about so much more. Paul began exploring the British countryside as a schoolboy in the 1970s, developing a lifelong fascination with the interaction between humans and the land. His writing delves into how the physical environment shapes us and how we, in turn, respond.
