    41. Paige Lynch, N.P. - Functional vs. Conventional Medicine & Nervous system dysregulation

    Our bodies are remarkable. They tell us when we're sick or when something is wrong while simultaneously working on how to bring it back to equilibrium. Being aware of what our bodies are telling us is important. This episode encompasses many aspects of the health realm. It was great to get to know Paige and hear her story. She started her career as a firefighter/paramedic and after experiencing her own health crisis, Paige shifted from conventional medicine to functional medicine. As a nurse practitioner and a certified functional medicine practitioner, she works with patients to help uncover root causes and in creating a plan specific to the patients' needs.     36. Dr. Rachel Allyn - Pleasure & Intimacy in Relationship

    Dr. Rachel Allyn joins me today and we touch base on types of pleasure, intimacy in relationships and the importance of accepting our bodies. Dr. Allyn is a licensed clinical psychologist, certified yoga instructor, public speaker and author of, "The Pleasure is All Yours" which we also discuss. Not only does she help others through her practice, she also has written numerous articles as a relationship columnist and has been quoted in books and magazines including Psychology Today, Cosmopolitan, Yoga Journal, Good Housekeeping and Women's Health. Throughout the episode, she shares the value of bodyfulness and defines what a healthy relationship is not only for ourselves as individuals but also with a partner. Dr. Allyn and I share the affect shame from others on our sexual relationships, body image and intimacy can have on us.
