    Police search ex-prince Andrew's home and former estate | ABC News Top Stories

    The former prince Andrew has been seen leaving police custody ten hours after he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The brother of King Charles was arrested overnight with police continuing to search his home as well as his former mansion on the Windsor Estate. He's suspected of passing on sensitive trade documents to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in his previous role as a trade envoy. Commentators are describing it as a seismic moment for the modern royal family, with the king releasing a statement saying the police have his full support. The Coalition is demanding the government revoke the passports of 34 Australian women and children linked to the Islamic State terrorist group. They're trying to come home from Syria's al Roj detention camp, where they've been for the past seven years. The Prime Minister says he has contempt for the group and will not repatriate them. And an International Women's Day event in Bendigo featuring Grace Tame will go ahead despite calls for it to be cancelled. Earlier this week the Australian Jewish Association wrote to organisers asking that her appearance be scrapped, claiming she made a call to violence at a protest in Sydney. The former Australian of the year and sexual assault survivor has more recently become known as a vocal critic of Israel.     Family of Virginia Giuffre 'lifted' by ex-prince Andrew's arrest | ABC News Top Stories

    Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the brother of King Charles, has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He's yet to be charged but it's an unprecedented moment for the modern royal family. The king's released a statement saying the law must take its course, and that the police have the royal family's full support. Police have been investigating Andrew's links to Jeffrey Epstein, and allegations that the former prince passed on sensitive trade documents to the late sex offender. The family of the late Virginia Giuffre, who accused the former prince Andrew of raping her, say their broken hearts have been lifted following his arrest. In a statement, they said that no one is above the law, not even royalty. Ms Giuffre alleged the former prince raped her three times after she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein ... and she sued Mountbatten-Windsor for sexual assault in 2021. Last year she died by suicide in Western Australia. The Mayor of Canterbury Bankstown in south-west Sydney says Pauline Hanson should face hate speech charges. The council area is the most concentrated Muslim population in the country and is home to the country's largest mosque, which has received threatening letters and death threats. It comes amid widely-condemned comments from the One Nation leader that there were 'no good muslims', for which she's issued a partial apology. The consumer watchdog's lawsuit against supermarket giant Coles will continue in federal court today. The ACCC is suing Coles over what it says was a planned campaign to mislead customers with fake discounts on hundreds of common household items. A former Coles manager has admitted in court that human error led to them bypassing pricing guardrails to be more competitive with Woolworths. Qualifying rounds for the women's free-ski half-pipe are underway at the Winter Olympics in Italy. Australian Indra Brown is making her Olympic debut and is up against reigning champion Eileen Gu of China. 27 athletes are qualifying this morning, with the top 12 to advance to the final on Sunday.
