Hadija's Story

Hadija Abdul-Majeed is a youth advocate from Ghana with a particular passion for female education. Over the past few years, Hadija has mentored several young girls who've experienced difficulties in accessing education and advancement in life. One of these girls is Amina, a girl from northern Ghana, who had to sell on the streets to fund for her education. Throughout Amina's difficulties, Hadija, her mentor, was there to provide support and encouragement, and today, Amina is half way through her university education. On this episode of the climb podcast, Hadija engages Amina in an emotional discussion about her life's journey. Thereafter she speaks to experts and explores ways those in authority can make sure Amina's story is not the case for millions of other disadvantaged young girls. Memory's Story

Memory Tapela Banda is a young human rights defender from the Southern African country of Zambia. In April 2025, she joined other activists in Zambia to lead the largest peace march in the country's history against child sexual abuse - a scourge that has almost become commonplace. In this episode, Memory speaks about her experience on the pivotal march, she also speaks to others who took part in the March to find out what they think was accomplished, and what the future holds for this important issue.
