    Failure Foretold, Redemption Promised // Mark // Mark 14 27-31 // Audrey Mafemera

    Peter and the other disciples had been told again and again and again that Jesus must die. And they missed it. Here, in Mark 14 27-31, Jesus promises that He will rise and go ahead of them into Galilee, and Peter, again misses it. He’s too busy justifying himself to see the glorious truth of the Gospel.  Audrey brought us this message, as “Part 1 of 2” in her “Peter’s Denial” series.  “Part 2 of 2” is planned for a few weeks’ time.     Last week with Chris we thought about Jesus promising that He is coming back!  But when? Of course we want to know when! We would prepare for Him!  This week, Adam picks up the story in Mark 13 32-37 and no, we don’t know when He is coming.  Jesus says “concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come.”  There is work to be done while we wait. There is preparation to be done for His coming.  Be on guard!     We’re back to Mark!  It’s been a joy and a privilege to walk through Mark over recent years, but now, it’s time for the “last lap”, culminating at Easter.  Today, Mike was looking at Mark 12 35-40  Who do you think you are? Are you too impressed with yourself?
