Harsh Realities:A Small Business Podcast Episode 2- Networking, The ultimate Business Game Changer

Welcome to another episode of Nick Sands presents “Harsh Reality: A Small Business Podcast”! Today, we’re diving deep into the heart of business success: networking. It’s not just about making connections; it’s about building meaningful relationships. In this episode, I’ll share personal stories of how networking has propelled my business to new heights. From childhood friendships to chance encounters, every connection has played a crucial role in my journey. First up, let’s talk about Andy, a childhood friend who became my largest client. It’s a testament to the power of maintaining relationships over the years. But remember, friends and family aren’t charity – always bring your A-game to the table. Then, there’s Rachel, a former colleague who introduced me to a podcasting opportunity. Little did I know, it would lead to a chain of connections, ultimately landing me the biggest job of my career. It’s a reminder that every interaction could be a stepping stone to something greater. But networking isn’t just about chasing money; it’s about solving problems and adding value to people’s lives. That’s why I make it a point to meet 5 to 10 new people every week. Whether it’s online or at networking events, expanding your network opens doors you never knew existed. So, let’s shift our mindset from transactional to relational. Let’s focus on building genuine connections and helping others succeed. Because in the end, true success isn’t just about the dollars – it’s about the impact we make. Thank you for tuning in! Don’t forget to subscribe for more insights on navigating the world of small business. Until next time, keep networking and keep hustling!

Day 12 of 1000: Yesterday Got Dark

In this YouTube video, I dive into the realities of entrepreneurship, shedding light on the full spectrum of experiences. Despite the challenges, I want to emphasize the positives: 1) **Complete Financial Control**: When you work for yourself, you're in the driver's seat of your financial situation. While it may be tough at times, you have the power to determine your income. It's a numbers game, and each job is an interview for the next. When you hit your financial goals, you can choose to scale back or keep pushing. 2) **Quality Time with Family**: One of the incredible perks of entrepreneurship is the ability to spend more time with your loved ones. I share how it's a dream come true for me to actively participate in my children's lives and make my own schedule. Being in control of your time is liberating. 3) **No Boss, Total Freedom**: As someone who values independence, not having a boss is a game-changer. I decide my schedule, my work hours, and even if I want to sneak off for a milkshake mid-day. It's my time, and I relish the freedom. I talk about how working for myself has been a dream come true, offering opportunities I wouldn't have had otherwise. I've evolved my business as my interests changed, and I can pivot to suit my needs. This adaptability and the ability to chart my own course make working for yourself a truly rewarding endeavor. So, if you're considering taking the entrepreneurial leap, know that it's not just about overcoming challenges but also embracing the incredible freedom, control, and opportunities it offers. Make sure to watch the video for a more in-depth look at these three positives and the bonus insight on pivoting your business.
