    It's the Simple Things

In this episode I talk about the simple things, life's great pleasures that help you get through the doomsday scenarios that bombard us on a daily basis. How a nice walk, traditional breakfast, sports, music, friends and family, and especially one's spouse makes life so special. There are a fistful of headlines that include malt liquor, Lauren Boebert, a Burger King manager and her neurodivergent employee, a senator, several drunks, JB Pritzker, Donald Trump and a whole lot more. My cultural recommendations are two films from 1964 that deal with nuclear war, Fail Safe and Dr. Strangelove. Enjoy!

    Tying Up Loose Ends

In this episode, instead of broaching a new subject, I figured I would take some time to review the things I discussed on some recent episodes, including DSA! DSA! DSA!, Are We Not Men? and Toxic Femininity., as new information has come to light. The headlines are back with a superabundance, and include a West Indian American Day Parade, a high school valedictorian, Navy SEALS, Salma Hayek, Ringo Starr, a poop-filled prison and so much more. And my cultural recommendation is a movie this time. one of my favorites from 1991. Enjoy!

    25 Years On

I guess you can consider this a bonus episode, as I didn't think I'd get another one out before flying off to Nashville. In it I share my remembrance of that fateful day, September 11th, 2001, and how things in this country have transpired since. As the 25th anniversary is a solemn day, I've opted to not include the usual headlines and cultural recommendation. I'm not sure if the proper word is enjoy, but I hope you're able to get something out of it.

    Toxic Femininity

In this episode I review the four waves of feminism and let you know what I think the movement as a whole has meant for women, men and to society. Put on your big boy pants, as some of you might got a teeny bit angry at my conclusion. There is an overflow of headlines that include a petting zoo, Muslim holidays, jiggle joints, enchiladas, senior citizens, Hunter Bide, Tupac Shakur and a whole lot more. My cultural recommendation is an indie band that many of you are probably not familiar with. Though if you know the songs Mercury, Cerulean, Ballerina Out of Control, Drifting Falling and Between Something and Nothing, you'll know who I'm referring to. Enjoy!

    Are We Not Men?

In this episode, as promised, I provide you with my predictions for the coming midterms. As the analyzing of elections is tedious, and I have enough trouble keeping your attention, I've broadened the episode out a bit and address some of the issues that are having an impact on voters, the young especially. There is a bushel of headlines which I hope will entertain you and they include brawling women, an Iranian bounty, a nude politician, Erling Haaland, Hhalid Sheikh Mohammed, Dr. Frankenstein and a lot more. A band is the subject of my cultural recommendation, and the title of this episode is a hint as to who. And I end with a short tribute to Dolly Parton. Enjoy!

    DSA! DSA! DSA!

In this episode I get to the questions that I didn't have time for last week. They concern Artificial Intelligence, the Democrat Socialists of America, the senate filibuster and how to start a podcast. There are an abundance of headlines that include Nancy Mace, the Little League World Series, a black bear, flesh eating bacteria Penn State frat bros, a fisherman in a cooler and so much more. My cultural recommendation is a person considered a legend in the music business, as a writer, musician and producer. You'll have to listen to find out who it is. And I end with an update regarding the insanity that is the WNBA. Enjoy!

    Breaking Eggs and Making Omelets

As it's August and there's not much going on in the news, I figured this would be a good time to address some of your questions. What listeners want to know are my latest thoughts regarding immigration, if I'm sorry I voted for Donald Trump and if I think the country is on the brink of civil war. There is also an excess of headlines that include frozen eggs, horny middle school teachers, hired hitmen, Nancy Pelosi, the potential disappearance of gravity, an Iranian black widow and so much more. My cultural recommendation is Woody Allen's Love and Death, which ranks as one of his three best films as far as I'm concerned. And I finish with a brief update on the WNBA and their inability to define what a woman is. Enjoy!

    Five-Foot-Tall Man Takes the Fifth

In this episode, after a brief review of my recent three-day cruise, I focus on the COVID lockdown and Dr. Anthony Fauci's role. I go over the contradictions between his public statements and what he really believed as written in his diary. There is lie, after lie, after lie, and in between we find out how happy he was to be getting so much positive attention. His taking the fifth was disappointing, but he might very well have to deal with a charge of contempt of Congress. We'll see. There is also a constellation of headlines that include an impatient senior citizen, a bear in a hot tub, deaths due to explosive diarrhea, a beagle, a 350-pound teacher, a former child pop star and so much more. I talk about one of my favorite comedies as my cultural recommendation and finish up with the continuing saga of Sophie Cunningham and the WNBA. Enjoy!
