    Discipling Toddlers

    Do you ever wonder when and how and even if you should discipline your toddler. Do they even understand what they did? Are they ready or do they have to ability to have self-control or to obey?  When should you start spanking them, and for what? When do you put them in time out, how long, and for what reasons?  What do you do if they are throwing tantrums or hitting?  Of course some of this depends on the toddler and the situation, but in this episode I go into detail and answer all of these questions the best I can.     Giving your children the Gift of Responsibility

    Research tells us that children that do chores have more confidence.  This is a significant finding and one that is worth exploring and talking about.  In a world where depression, anxiety and the suicide rate is ever climbing it is so important to instill a sense of value and self-worth in our children at a very young age.  We want to help them understand that God gave them specific gifts that should be used to better the family unit and one the world they live in.  That the gift he gave them is unique to them and they play a vital role in our family unit. One way we can easily do this is by giving them chores and having them do the things they can do safely on their own. It is so tempting to just do it for them when it will take an extra 20 minutes for them to do it, but when we are always doing it for them, we create children that first think that everything should be done for them and second don't have a sense of responsibility.  In this podcast I talk about practical ways to give them responsibility, confidence and a sense of self-worth.  So, let's dive into this week's episode!  Support the show

    Our Bible tells us that Children are a Blessing! Psalm 127:3-4 is clear that our children should be a blessing and even a reward, but do you ever feel like that's not what it feels like sometimes. Our culture teaches us that children are an inconvenience, that they are too much responsibility and forget getting any sleep or feeling like a person again once you have children. In this episode I talk about how to change our perspective on our children, and in turn creating a loving environment where our children feel accepted and embraced instead of like a nuisance. We go into detail on how we can have fun and embrace this stage of motherhood with joy! Not by being a martyr to motherhood, but by embracing the biggest calling in our lives and having our days full of fun and joy because of that!  So, let's dive in! Support the show
