12: Mini Mentors Card Game: Conversations with Kids

The podcast gave birth to a card game!!! I talk about my why, my prayer, and my hope with this card game. I also share my experience playing it and how you can play it as well.

11: Are you really happy in those clothes?

Children often possess a remarkable ability to be present and truly see us in a way that adults might overlook. They notice our emotions, expressions, and even the subtlest gestures.

  3. 07/27/2023

10: I have changed my mind.

How many times do children change their minds in a day? In adulthood, we call it indecisiveness, but I do think changing one's mind is actually a sign of growth.

  4. 07/03/2023

09: Receiving others with joy and gladness

Notice how children receive someone they love /appreciate with genuine joy and gladness. Wouldn't it be nice if adults embraced that as well?

  5. 06/11/2023

    08: Just Try!

The children have taught me to do it while I'm shaking, to do it when skeptical, and to do it even when I have reservations. Because what is life if you don't try?

  6. 05/12/2023

07: Si you guys just mix your money

My niece is already an ambassador of equality. This better count when she will be job hunting many years from now.

  7. 04/28/2023

06: I am proud of myself!

My niece had the perfect answer to the question what are you most proud of. Normalize asking children such questions, you will learn how to answer those interview questions you have been battling with. Wink!

  8. 04/09/2023

05: I love your penguin socks.

Can adults give compliments as easily as kids do? At what point do we stop doing it? Is it because kids live in the moment and are more observant?

  9. 03/23/2023

04: Why don't you guys like the cat?

Nurture or Nature? The more I interact with children, the more I lean towards nurture. When my nephew was 4 years old, he did not understand why we found a black cat ugly, but over the years, that has changed.

  10. 03/09/2023

    03: Can I get a hug?

My niece taught me that it's okay to ask for what you need, no matter what's happening in the rest of the world. One day, I was running late for work, but she needed a hug, so she asked for it. Sometimes, things are just that simple.

  11. 02/23/2023

02: But Why Can't Ruto give Raila a turn this time?

My dear nephew never fails to remind me that it's possible to be competitive, relish in the thrill of victory, and still root for your teammates. He seems to have already mastered the lesson that being at the top can get pretty lonely, pretty quickly. If he keeps up this level of wisdom, he'll be running the world before he can even drive a car!

  12. 02/10/2023

01: Clap for others as you wait your turn...

My dear nephew and nieces have been my greatest teachers, and I plan to write a book one day about all the things children have taught me. They're the reason why I started this podcast, and I'm excited to share the first lesson my five-year-old niece continues to teach me.
