    World Parkinson's Day 11 April 2025

Hi everyone and welcome back to Chasing Care Conversations. Today is a very special day as we come together to recognize world Parkinson's Day. It's the day dedicated to raising awareness about Parkinson's Disease, supporting those that live with it, and remembering that love and care can make a difference. In the lives of countless individuals and families, for those who may not know, Parkinson's Disease is a progressively neurological disorder that affects movement. Symptoms can vary widely from person to person, but they often include tremors, stiffness, and difficulties with balance and coordination. It's a disease that can turn the simplest of tasks into a monumental challenge. But today we are here to talk about more than just the struggles we are here to spotlight, the incredible resilience, the inspiring stories, and the power of community. Each year, on April the 11th, supporters from around the globe share their stories. They shine a light, not just on the challenges of Parkinson's, but also the courage shown by those living with it. It's a reminder that underneath every diagnosis lies a unique journey, a journey filled with dreams, laughter, and sometimes tears. We also take this opportunity to honor caregivers, the family members, the friends, or those who stand by the side of somebody living with Parkinson's. Your role is vital. You provide support, love, and an understanding that words can't encapsulate. It's not easy, and yet your commitment is powerful, a testament to the human spirit. But let's dive deeper into what chasing care truly means. For many. Chasing care is about finding resources, whether it's seeking medical advice, participating in support groups, or discovering new therapies that can help manage symptoms. It's about being proactive and informed. Did you know that there's a growing body of research on how lifestyle changes like exercise nutrition can positively impact the lives of those with Parkinson's? Improving physical health can lead to improved mental wellbeing, helping individuals reclaim a sense of control over their lives. As we engage with our communities today, let's focus on building bridges of understanding and compassion. You can help by sharing knowledge, participating in local events, or simply checking in on somebody you know. Living with Parkinson's. Every little action counts creates ripples of hope and care. And if you are somebody living with Parkinson's, remember you are not alone. You are part of a vibrant, supportive network. Reach out, connect. Share your journey, and let's build a community where every voice is heard and every story matters. So on this world, Parkinson's Day, let's stand together. Let's chase care. Let's embrace hope. Let's replace the stigma with understanding and fear With compassion, each of us has the ability to make a difference, to foster connections, and to encourage those who might feel isolated or afraid. Remember, no one should have to navigate this journey alone. Care is not just a word. It's an action that we can choose to take every single day. Thanks for joining us today on this important day. If you found the message inspiring. Please like, share, and subscribe to chasing Care. Together let's continue to spread awareness, foster connection, and Chase care for everyone affected by Parkinson's disease. Let's keep the conversation going. Until next time, take care of yourselves and take care of each other. Understanding Introductory Care Agencies: How They Work and What to Expect

In this episode we explore the differences between a fully managed CQC regulated care provider and an introduction agency: When families start exploring care options for a loved one, they often come across different types of care providers. One key distinction is between regulated care providers—who employ and manage care staff—and introductory agencies, which connect individuals with independent care workers but do not oversee the care provided. An introductory agency acts as a matchmaking service, introducing self-employed care workers to people who need support. Unlike fully managed care services, these agencies do not employ the caregivers, nor do they have an ongoing role in directing or controlling the care provided. The family or individual contacts the agency to outline their care needs. The agency recommends care workers who match the requirements. The family hires the care worker directly, agreeing on terms, payment, and responsibilities. The agency steps back, leaving the care arrangement to be managed between the individual and the caregiver.✅ More choice and flexibility – Families can select a caregiver who best fits their loved one’s needs.✅ Potential cost savings – Without a full management service, fees may be lower than traditional care providers.✅ Direct relationship with the caregiver – Families work directly with the care worker, allowing for personalised arrangements. ⚠️ Lack of regulation – Unlike CQC-regulated providers, introductory agencies are not responsible for the quality of care.⚠️ Employment responsibilities – The family may become the legal employer of the caregiver, handling contracts, pay, and disputes.⚠️ No ongoing oversight – If care needs change, families must manage adjustments themselves. Introductory agencies can be a great solution for those who want a hands-on approach to arranging care and prefer to build a direct relationship with a caregiver. However, for families seeking fully managed care, supervision, and professional accountability, a regulated provider may be a better fit. Understanding the difference helps families make an informed decision that ensures their loved one receives the best possible care. Network Live in Care
