Reconstruction and horrific trauma in the mortuary

In this podcast mortician/embalmer Tracy describes some of the most horrific cases she has seen during her 15-year long career in the mortuary, explaining the measures she went to in order to make the deceased viewable for the family wherever possible and alternative ways to give the family a final goodbye when viewing is not advised. She also talks about her own traumatic experience when, following the sudden accidental death of her mother, she was denied the chance to say her own goodbyes. It's the reason she does what she does and while not every family of every deceased person will want or need a viewing, Tracy believes that those who do, should be given every chance at making a final connection with their person - even if they are unable to see the body because the trauma and injuries are too great. This episode is confronting and not for everyone so please exercise your own listening discretion. Thanks for joining us. Sheila and the afterlife

Welcome back to a bright, fabulous new year - we start off with an interview with crime writer and forensic handwriting analyst Sheila Lowe who is kinda a 'frequent flyer' when it comes to mediums and tapping into the afterlife. Sheila's life, career and belief system took a sharp turn after her daughter Jennifer was murdered years ago and her recently publish memoir tells of the events that brought her to realise "there is no death, only of the body". In this candid interview Sheila talks freely about losing her daughter, as well as her ex-husband and a boyfriend in the years that followed, and how these events have inspired her to lift the curtain on the afterlife and recognise many signs from her loved ones that have passed. We hope you enjoy our chat with Sheila Lowe. Exploring the UK's most haunted buildings

In this episode we chat with Jess, a paranormal investigator who enjoys exploring the bridge between the living and the dead. Most Saturday nights you'll find Jess and a group of nervous clients meandering through the basements, tunnels and backrooms of some of the creepiest buildings in the UK from court rooms and mansions to creepy council houses and everything in between. And during her years pursuing this unlikely hobby on communicating with the spirit world, Jess has seen a few things... she's been punched by the Jailer, and run squealing from the room after an unexpected encounter. She's watched tables walk upstairs, catballs fly across the room and seen more flashes of light, shadowy figures and weird goings on that you would care to imagine. We were pretty excited to chat with Jess, who has been a friend of our YouTube channel for a few years now - we hope you enjoy this podcast. Oh, and any questions for Jess, email us at areyoudyingtoknow@gmail.com and we will ask her to answer them for you. From deathbed to the grave

In this episode we talk about the process of death, and touch on many of the questions and decisions that need to be made, so that you can be prepared if and when death affects your family. It's a step away from our usual mortuary and embalming talk, but after speaking with hundreds and hundreds of people, we have realised that most people first encounter their local funeral director when they are forced into planning the funeral of a loved one who has died. Unfortunately, this is not the best time, when shrouded by loss and grief, to be making snap decisions on inclusions that will shape the way your person is farewelled, and remembered.  So what we are saying to you is this - get educated. Know what your choices are before you are in this situation. And, if possible, know what your loved ones - your parents, spouse or partner, siblings and kids would want for their final sendoff, long before those decisions need to be acted upon. We mention the Natural Death Care Centre in this pod, so as promised, here is the link: www.naturaldeathcarecentre.org We hope you enjoy this pod.
