Too Cold to Fish? How to Catch Fish Before Winter

Fall fishing in Ontario is here, but how many open water fishing trips do you actually have left? Probably more than you think! Before you winterize the boat and start dreaming about next season, there are still plenty of opportunities to catch fish! Andrew and Jesse talk late season fishing strategies, giant baits, trophy fish, and the fine art of questioning your life choices while freezing your fingers off at the boat launch and riverside. They also discuss cold weather fishing gear, boat safety, and tips for extending your open water fishing season before winter takes over. Because catching a personal best muskie on an Ontario lake is an unforgettable experience, but losing feeling in your hands while tying a knot is less than ideal. So grab a coffee, add another layer, and join Fishing Loons for some practical fall fishing tips, late season pike and muskie tactics, and a reminder that just because it's getting cold doesn't mean the fishing season is over! You Suck at Fishing: Why You’re Not Catching Fish

Spent six hours fishing and caught nothing? Excellent. You are officially an angler. Jesse and Andrew break down why fishing can be so difficult, from weather and water temperature to fish movement, structure, lure selection, and knowing when it is time to move. They also talk about patience, tough days, changing tactics, and the painful reality that sometimes the fish are not biting because you are simply fishing where they are not. A little advice, a few questionable decisions, and plenty of reasons to keep casting. Swimbaits Made Simple

In this episode Jesse and Andrew dive headfirst into the world of swimbaits because apparently tying on one lure and hoping for the best isn't a strategy. They cover how to pick the right size, when to throw them, and proven techniques like drop swimming and fishing an underspin to help you fool more bass, walleye, pike, and just about anything with teeth.  They chat with Derrek of Fish Easy, about a tool that makes finding your next fishing trip a whole lot easier than arguing in Facebook groups or scrolling Google for three hours. If you're looking to catch more fish, discover new Ontario destinations, or simply justify another fishing trip, this episode is for you.
