Grammy-winning producer Kerry 'Krucial' Brothers shares his perspective on artificial intelligence (AI) in the music industry. Addressing common concerns and misconceptions, Krucial emphasizes that AI is a tool to be embraced rather than feared. Drawing parallels to past technological advancements, Krucial highlights how technology has always influenced music production, from MIDI to computer-based recording. Exploring the potential of AI, Krucial discusses how it can replicate existing musical styles and even create entire songs, but it cannot replace the human experience, emotions, and creative intuition. Encouraging musicians to use AI as a creative tool, Krucial suggests leveraging it for inspiration, idea generation, and efficiency in the music-making process. Staying true to one's individuality and embracing imperfections, Krucial emphasizes the uniqueness and magic that come from human expression. Acknowledging the presence of AI-generated music on the charts, Krucial urges artists to delve deeper into their inner selves, relying on intuition and personal experiences to create truly authentic and relatable music. Highlighting the importance of evolving alongside AI, Krucial emphasizes that human creativity and the ability to feel and make mistakes will always set musicians apart from machines. Encouraging artists to use AI as a reference and building block for their own unique creations, Krucial emphasizes the importance of infusing personal experiences and emotions into the music. Concluding on a positive note, Krucial emphasizes that AI should be viewed as a helpful tool, allowing artists to speed up processes, spark new ideas, and enhance their creative journey.
