13-Year NBA Vet & Co-Founder of Athlegacy, Anthony Tolliver (Ep. 132)

In this episode of Unscripted for Christ, I had a great conversation with former 13-year NBA veteran and Co-Founder of Athlegacy, Anthony Tolliver. Anthony shares his testimony and how his faith in Jesus Christ has guided him throughout both life and basketball. We discuss his athletic journey, including his collegiate career at Creighton University, where his team experienced a memorable season that included winning the Missouri Valley Tournament Championship and earning an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2007. Anthony also shares why he believes academics play an important role in the development and long-term success of student-athletes. Additionally, Anthony reflects on his professional basketball career and what it was like taking an unconventional path to the NBA after going undrafted. He talks about remaining prepared and professional, trusting the process, and embracing opportunities throughout his professional journey. Finally, we discuss Athlegacy, a company that "helps athletes, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals maximize the benefits and opportunities available through life insurance strategies."   For more information about Athlegacy, visit: https://www.theathlegacy.com/   Like the rest of the episodes, this is a prerecorded episode       Credits Powerful Trap Beat | Strong by Alex-Productions | https://onsound.eu/ Music promoted by Background Music Free Download | No Copyright Music - Chosic Creative Commons CC BY 3.0 Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0

Let Your Light Shine (Ep. 127)

In this episode, I reflect on Matthew 5:13–16, where Jesus teaches His disciples about the importance of being the salt of the earth and the light of the world. I explore what it means for believers today to live in a way that points others to Christ and reflects His character in a world that often feels spiritually dark. I highlight the importance of living a holy life, set apart for God, and devoted to His Kingdom, while also examining common struggles and habits that can contradict the witness Jesus calls us to have. This episode encourages Christians to pursue a Godly life. The light of Christ should shine through the life of those who follow Him for all to see, so that they will ultimately glorify our Heavenly Father. Don't dim your light, let it shine. Let's Go! For the Love of Money (Ep. 126)

In this episode, we dive into the biblical perspective of money, wealth, and stewardship through the lens of 1 Timothy 6:10: "For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil." While money itself is not inherently bad, it is a necessary tool that helps provide for our daily needs and responsibilities. The challenge arises when our pursuit of wealth, success, and material possessions begins to take the place of God in our hearts. As a society, we are constantly encouraged to chase riches, status, and luxury, often measuring success by what we own rather than who we are in Christ. But as followers of Jesus, we are called to a different standard—one that prioritizes God above all else. Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Join us as we discuss the dangers of idolizing money, the importance of biblical stewardship, and how Christians can honor God with their finances while keeping their hearts anchored in Him. Whether you're struggling with financial pressures, seeking wisdom in managing resources, or simply looking to grow in your faith, this conversation will encourage you to pursue the Giver above the gifts and trust God's provision every step of the way.
