Satan's Little Season: Has the Millennial Reign Already Happened? - Episode 306

Has Jesus Christ already returned and completed His thousand-year reign on Earth? A growing theory known as the Little Season Doctrine claims that the millennial kingdom is already past, Satan has been released from the bottomless pit, and humanity is now living in a period of worldwide deception. But does this teaching agree with Scripture? In Episode 306 of Bible Mysteries, Scott Mitchell and John Potts examine the claims surrounding Satan's little season and compare them with biblical prophecy. Beginning in Revelation 20, Scott examines the Greek meaning of "a little season," the timing of Satan's release, and the events that must occur during Christ's millennial reign. The discussion also considers the first resurrection, Isaiah's prophecies of worldwide peace and extraordinary longevity, the future temple described by Ezekiel, and a possible connection between the camp of the saints and the Feast of Tabernacles. If Christ's thousand-year reign has already happened, where is the evidence of the kingdom described in Scripture? And could the present dispensation of grace be mistaken for Satan's little season? Key Scriptures: Revelation 6:9–11; Revelation 20:1–10; Isaiah 2:2–4; Isaiah 65:19–25; Zechariah 14:16; Ezekiel 43:1–5; Ezekiel 44:4; Ephesians 3:2–6. In this episode: What the Little Season Doctrine teaches about Christ's return and hidden history The meaning of mikros and chronos in Revelation Why the first resurrection matters to the millennial timeline The prophetic conditions that must accompany Christ's thousand-year reign The possible connection between the Feast of Tabernacles and the camp of the saints Why the dispensation of grace must be distinguished from Satan's little season Has the millennial reign already passed, or is the kingdom of Jesus Christ still to come? Join Scott and John as they test this increasingly popular doctrine against the Word of God. Sowing in the Word: Part 3 — Understanding the Mysteries of God

Why did Jesus speak in parables, and why did God conceal certain truths in Scripture? The Bible contains mysteries that were hidden until God chose to reveal them. In Part 3 of Sowing in the Word, Scott Mitchell examines the meaning of the Greek word musterion, why Jesus spoke to the multitudes in parables, and how the wisdom of God was hidden from the rulers of this world. Through Matthew 13 and 1 Corinthians 2, we learn that God's mysteries are not simply difficult teachings but truths revealed according to His divine purpose. Scott also explains how the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, which appeared to be a victory for Satan, became the greatest triumph over the powers of darkness. In a personal account of his spiritual journey, Scott shares how a lifelong longing to understand God eventually led him to salvation and a commitment to studying the Scriptures. He calls this longing divine discontent—a desire to know the Lord beyond religious activity or intellectual knowledge. Are you content with what you know about God, or is there a desire within you to understand His Word more fully? Scriptures Referenced: Matthew 13:10–17, Luke 8:9–10, 1 Corinthians 2:6–10, 1 Corinthians 4:1–2, Colossians 2:10–15, Job 23:12. In This Lesson: What the biblical word mystery actually means. Why Jesus concealed certain truths through parables. How God's hidden wisdom led to Christ's victory at the cross. The difference between religious knowledge and genuine salvation. Why spiritual hunger should lead believers to study God's Word. Pandemic of Deception: False Prophets, Doctrines of Devils, and the Last Days - Episode 305

Is the Church facing a pandemic of deception? From false prophets and religious heresies to viral claims questioning the authority of Scripture, biblical deception is spreading faster than ever. Jesus warned that deception would be a defining characteristic of the last days. Yet many Christians are accepting teachings from social media personalities and self-proclaimed experts without examining what the Bible actually says. In this episode of Bible Mysteries, Scott and John discuss how deception has influenced religious systems throughout history, why false teachers are gaining influence today, and how believers can protect themselves through sound doctrine. Topics Discussed: Why Jesus warned about deception before wars, famines, and pestilences in Matthew 24 The four horsemen of Revelation and the possibility that the beginning of sorrows has already begun Mystery Babylon, blasphemy, and the religious systems opposing God's truth How social media, artificial intelligence, and self-proclaimed experts accelerate biblical misinformation Why some teachers reject the Apostle Paul's authority and misunderstand the distinction between law and grace The warning against seducing spirits and doctrines of devils in 1 Timothy 4 How to recognize false prophets, test the spirits, and avoid spreading deception Why studying and rightly dividing God's Word is the believer's greatest defense against false doctrine Key Scriptures (KJV): Matthew 24:3–8; Revelation 6:1–8; Revelation 17:1–5; Mark 7:20–23; Romans 16:17–18; 2 Peter 2:1–3; 2 Timothy 2:15–19; 1 Timothy 1:5–7; Matthew 7:15–20; Deuteronomy 13:1–3; 1 John 4:1–3; 1 Timothy 4:1–16. The Question:  With so many voices claiming to speak biblical truth, how can Christians recognize deception without becoming part of its spread? The answer begins with studying Scripture, rightly dividing the word of truth, and refusing to substitute popular opinions for sound doctrine. Sowing in the Word, Part 2: How to Study the Bible — Three Essential Tools

How can you study the Bible for yourself without relying on commentaries or someone else's interpretation? In Part 2 of Sowing in the Word, Brother Scott Mitchell introduces three essential tools for studying Scripture: a King James Bible, Strong's Concordance, and Webster's 1828 Dictionary. Using passages from 2 Kings, Genesis, Acts, Daniel, and Revelation, Scott demonstrates how to examine unfamiliar words, compare Hebrew and Greek word usage, and allow Scripture to interpret Scripture. What does it mean when the Bible says someone "fetched a compass"? Why does Daniel say he "told the sum of the matters"? These examples reveal how a little careful research can bring greater understanding to passages we might otherwise overlook. More importantly, this lesson encourages believers to develop confidence in studying God's Word for themselves, seeking understanding through prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit rather than depending entirely on the opinions of men. Scripture References (KJV): 2 Kings 3:9; Genesis 2:10-11; Genesis 19:4; Acts 19:13; Acts 28:11-14; 1 Timothy 5:13; Daniel 2:5-32; Daniel 7:1; Revelation 20:7-9; 2 Timothy 2:15. East to West Part 2 - Why the East Points to Jesus Christ; Interview with Jeff Dodson - Episode 304

Why does the east appear again and again at significant moments throughout Scripture? Could God have embedded a directional pattern in His Word that ultimately points Israel toward Jesus Christ? Jeff Dodson returns to Bible Mysteries to continue his study of the Hebrew language and the biblical significance of the cardinal directions. After laying the groundwork in Part 1, Scott and Jeff turn their attention to the east—and the connections begin to build. From the entrance to Eden and the blood sprinkled eastward upon the mercy seat to Judah's position on the east side of the tabernacle, Scripture repeatedly draws our attention in the same direction. The pattern continues into the New Testament: wise men come from the east seeking the King of the Jews, His star is seen in the east, and Jesus describes His return as lightning coming "out of the east" and shining "even unto the west." The discussion then moves to Ezekiel's vision of the future temple, where the glory of the Lord returns from the east and living waters flow eastward from the sanctuary. Are these simply geographical details—or has God been pointing toward Messiah all along? In this episode:  Why the biblical significance of the east goes beyond geography Hebrew words used for east and what their usage reveals Why the blood was sprinkled eastward on the mercy seat The east entrance to the Garden of Eden Why Judah camped on the east side of the tabernacle The connection between Judah, the lion, and Jesus Christ Why the wise men and Christ's star are associated with the east Jesus Christ's return from east to west in Matthew 24 Why Jerusalem becomes the focal point of the nations The glory of the Lord returning from the east in Ezekiel Living waters flowing eastward from the millennial temple The east wind and its connection with judgment Why small directional details in Scripture deserve closer attention What began with a simple question about Hebrew being read from right to left has led to a much larger biblical pattern. From Genesis to the Second Coming, the east repeatedly appears in passages connected with God's presence, sacrifice, Judah, the Kingdom, and ultimately Jesus Christ. Perhaps the directions in Scripture are telling us far more than where to look on a map. Sowing in the Word, Part 1: How to Study the Bible — Where to Begin

How do you study the Bible when you don't know where to start? Many believers want to understand God's Word but have never been taught how to study it for themselves. Whether you're newly saved, unfamiliar with Scripture, or have spent years listening to Bible teachers, learning to search the Scriptures independently is essential to spiritual growth. In this first message of a new series, Sowing in the Word, Scott Mitchell begins with the fundamentals of Bible study. Using Scripture to explain Scripture, he demonstrates why studying God's Word requires humility, prayer, diligence, and a willingness to learn from the Holy Ghost rather than relying entirely upon the interpretations of men. Scott also introduces the importance of Paul's ministry to the Gentiles and the instruction to rightly divide the Word of truth in 2 Timothy 2:15. This series will take a step-by-step approach, helping believers build a foundation for studying the Bible, understanding difficult passages, and becoming established in sound doctrine. In This Bible Study Why every believer should learn to study the Bible independently What it means to sow in God's Word and reap spiritual rewards Why prayer and humility are essential to understanding Scripture How the Holy Ghost teaches believers to compare spiritual things with spiritual The difference between spiritual infancy and maturity Why following men instead of Scripture leads to confusion and division Why Paul instructed believers to follow his example The significance of Paul's calling as the apostle of the Gentiles What it means to rightly divide the Word of truth How to begin comparing Scripture with Scripture using a concordance Key Scriptures (KJV) 2 Corinthians 9:6-7; Galatians 6:7-8; Colossians 3:1-4; Matthew 18:2-4; James 1:5-6; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 1 Corinthians 3:1-5, 18-23; 1 Corinthians 11:1; 1 Corinthians 4:10-16; Philippians 3:17-19; Romans 11:13; Acts 26:12-18; 2 Timothy 2:15; Matthew 25:31-33; Ephesians 1:12-14; Hebrews 11:6. Scripture Focus 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." What's Ahead in Sowing in the Word? Throughout this series, Scott will demonstrate practical Bible study methods, including using a concordance, understanding the language of the King James Bible, examining the differences between Bible translations, and comparing passages to allow Scripture to interpret Scripture. You don't have to know everything to begin studying God's Word. You simply have to be willing to start. Become a Seeker at https://biblemysteries.supercast.com Is the Great Commission really the biblical foundation for modern missionary work? And are Christians obligated to financially support overseas missions, even when needs within their own congregations go unmet? In this episode of Bible Mysteries Unscripted, Scott Mitchell and John Potts respond to a Seeker's question about missionary funding, church traditions, and the proper interpretation of Matthew 28:18–20. Scott challenges the traditional application of the Great Commission by examining the instructions Jesus Christ gave to the Twelve Apostles, Peter's encounter with Cornelius, and the distinct commission later given to Paul. In This Episode: Why rightly dividing the Word of Truth matters when interpreting the Great Commission. The significance of Jesus instructing the Twelve to go to the lost sheep of Israel rather than the Gentiles. Why Peter's encounter with Cornelius in Acts 10 raises questions about the traditional understanding of Matthew 28. How Israel's future restoration relates to the nations seeking the Lord. Why Paul's commission to the Gentiles differs from the ministry given to the Twelve. Whether churches should prioritize helping struggling members before funding overseas missionary programs. What Scripture teaches about giving willingly rather than out of obligation. Scriptures Discussed (KJV): Matthew 28:16–20; Matthew 10:5–6, 23; Acts 10:25–29; Zechariah 8:20–23; Acts 26:15–18; 2 Timothy 2:15. A Question Worth Considering Are we following the instructions God gave to the Church today, or are we applying commands intended for another people and another time? Scott and John encourage believers to examine church traditions against Scripture, understand the distinction between Israel's kingdom program and Paul's gospel of grace, and give where they are being spiritually fed. Predestination: A Biblical Refutation of Calvinism | Romans 8 Bible Study

Encore Bible Study | Originally Released November 2024 Does God predetermine who will be saved, or does every person have the free will to believe on Jesus Christ? What does the Apostle Paul actually teach about predestination in Romans 8? In this teaching from the Unlock the Bible Now Romans 8 series, Scott Mitchell examines one of Christianity's most debated doctrines: predestination. Many interpret God's foreknowledge and election to mean that certain individuals were chosen for salvation before the foundation of the world, leaving others without a choice. But is that what Scripture teaches? Beginning with Romans 8:26–30, Scott explains how the Holy Spirit's intercession, the effectiveness of prayer, and mankind's voluntary will help clarify the meaning of predestination. He distinguishes between God's foreknowledge and His predetermined purpose, demonstrating why knowing something beforehand does not necessarily mean causing it to happen. Through a careful examination of Paul's writings, Scott explains that believers are predestinated to be conformed to the image of God's Son—not arbitrarily selected for salvation without the opportunity to believe. This study also addresses the role of free will in Christ's obedience to the Father, the process of salvation through hearing and believing the gospel, and the sealing of believers by the Holy Spirit. Scriptures Examined: Romans 8:26–30; Matthew 6:9–13; James 5:16–18; Leviticus 1:3; Acts 26:4–5; 1 Corinthians 2:7–8; 2 Thessalonians 2:13–14; Ephesians 1:13; Romans 10:13–17. In This Study: Why the Holy Spirit intercedes for believers according to God's will. How effective prayer demonstrates mankind's free will. The distinction between foreknowledge (proginosko) and predestination (proorizo). Why God's foreknowledge does not eliminate man's ability to choose. What Romans 8:29 means by being conformed to the image of His Son. How believers are called through the gospel, justified, and sealed by the Holy Spirit. Why salvation is available to whosoever will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The central question: Are we predestinated to be saved, or are those who believe predestinated to be conformed to the image of Christ? Scott encourages listeners to set aside theological assumptions and allow Scripture to interpret Scripture.
