Buena Vista Social Club Broadway | The Nerdy Review: Live Music, Spanish Vocals & More

Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway brings the music, history, and atmosphere of Havana, Cuba to the stage — with 100% of the show's singing performed in Spanish. ***This Nerdy Review is from a Friday September 25th 2026 Live Performance that I attended in person*** In this episode of The Nerdy Review, I share my spoiler-filled review after seeing Buena Vista Social Club live at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC). I discuss the story moving between 1956 and 1996 Havana, standout vocal performances, the live Cuban musicians performing on stage, choreography, casting, lighting, and other production details that caught my attention. I also get into some of my favorite musical moments, including the percussion, guitar, flute, and piano solos, and why the Spanish-language performances helped make this such a unique Broadway experience. TENET’s Hallway Fight: Why It Took 4 Different Versions

TENET’s Hallway Fight: Why It Took 4 Different Versions One fight. Four different variations. In this Nerdy Note, I revisit the TENET Blu-ray special features and look at the work behind the movie’s unforgettable hallway fight. John David Washington had to learn and perform different versions of the sequence — forward and backward and from both sides of the fight — to help create the time-inverted scene we eventually see on screen. It’s a fascinating example of how much preparation can go into just a few minutes of a Christopher Nolan movie. AMC Theatres is expanding its movie distribution ambitions through Leawood Films. After its experience with the Taylor Swift and Beyoncé concert films, AMC wants to distribute smaller independent movies as well. AMC Theatres Is Getting Into Movie Distribution | What It Means for Independent Films

AMC Theatres is getting into the movie distribution business with Leawood Films, creating another potential path for fully financed or completed independent films to reach movie theaters. In Episode #126 of The Silly, Nerdy and Wordy Podcast, I share my thoughts on what AMC’s move into film distribution could mean for independent films, filmmakers, theatrical releases, and movies that might otherwise receive limited releases, go directly to streaming, or struggle to reach theaters. I also get a little nerdy about the different paths independent films can take from film festivals to theaters and streaming—and how AMC could potentially give moviegoers more choices beyond major studio blockbusters. Line of Fire vs. Blue Bloods: Peter Krause Leads NBC’s New Federal Family Drama

NBC’s upcoming Line of Fire has something immediately familiar about it: a family working in law enforcement. Sound a little like Blue Bloods? The similarities are there—but the approach appears very different. In Episode 125 of The Silly Nerdy & Wordy Podcast, I break down what caught my attention in the Line of Fire trailer, including its Secret Service, FBI, U.S. Marshals and DOJ family dynamic, the darker conflicts developing between its characters, and how its federal Washington, D.C. setting could distinguish it from the New York-centered world of Blue Bloods. I also discuss Peter Krause’s new role and his return to NBC after Parenthood and following his time as Bobby Nash on 9-1-1. Plus, I’m starting something new with this episode: giving shout-outs to viewers and listeners from across the U.S. and around the world. 🌎 🎧 Available on Spotify | Apple Podcasts | iHeartRadio | YouTube Music | Audible | Amazon Music | Podbean | Podcast Addict — just search The Silly Nerdy and Wordy Podcast. ****I DID USE AI to CORRECT/EDIT A SMALL ERROR FROM MY INITIAL RECORDING: TO CHANGE THE WORD "was" to the word "is"****** Chapters 00:00 Introduction to 'Line of Fire' and 'Blue Bloods' 02:13 Family dynamics in law enforcement TV shows 04:11 Story layers and character relationships in 'Line of Fire' 05:27 Cast insights including Peter Krause 07:06 Themes of family secrets and federal agencies 08:27 Audience shout-outs and social media engagement 09:25 Peter Krause's career and return to NBC 09:53 Closing remarks and subscribe call-to-action TV News Roundup | NCIS, MobLand & Netflix Updates https://spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/NRfWh0ir05b Night Agent Season 3 & God of War TV Series Connection https://spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/WMkjM0ir05b Background Actors Getting Paid in TV & Film | Nerdy Note https://spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/seuel1ir05b How TV Actors Become Producers After a Few Seasons | Explained https://spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/1KiUt2ir05b NBC, ABC & CBS TV Updates | Fall 2025 Cast Changes & New Seasons (Ep #78) https://spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/6NlDReGr05b NBC Canceled Found, The Irrational & Suits: LA – My Reaction https://spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/o32InfGr05b Produced by Kruboy Productions My main channel- Kruboy Productions https://www.youtube.com/@KRUBOY-PRODUCTIONS TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@nerdypodcaster124 My 2nd channel Kruboy Productions Presents Nerdy Notes https://www.youtube.com/@KruboyProductionsPresentsNerdy 📝 Check out my blog now on SubStack https://substack.com/@nerdypodcaster12 #lineoffire #nbc #peacock #peterkrause #tv #tvshows #crimedrama #parenthood #storytelling #nerdynotes #nccu #sillynerdywordypodcast #kruboyproductions Media by Pond5 Illinois State Flag via https://www.flagcolorcodes.com/download/illinois Line of Firie IMDB Page https://www.imdb.com/title/tt39365612/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_line%20of%20fire Peter Krause"s IMDB Page https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0470244/?ref_=tt_ov_2_1 Blue Bloods's IMDB Page https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1595859/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_7_nm_1_in_0_q_blue%20bloo
