Denver's Story | You Are Not A Defect

Today I am joined by Denver, who is an incredible example of Christlike charity. Denver's story is raw, real, and full of hope. She was first exposed to pornography at age 10, spent years trapped in shame and addiction while publicly renouncing her faith in high school, battled severe depression and suicidal ideation, and finally rededicated her life to Christ in 2023. She has now been clean from pornography for over a year and is using her story to mentor other young women both online and in person at her church. This episode is one of my favorites. Denver does not hold back — and I think that is exactly what someone who has been carrying this alone for years needs to hear. In this episode we talk about: What it felt like to be exposed at age 10 and not understand what was happeningGrowing up in church hearing this topic only directed at guys and sinking in her seatHow bullying, depression, and rejection fueled her addiction as a coping mechanismWhat it looked like to publicly renounce Christianity in high school while still feeling pulled back to GodThe moment at a young adults conference that finally broke the silence after ten yearsWhat happened when she told her parents — and how completely opposite it was from what she fearedWhy she was angry at God for forgiving her and what shifted thatThe difference between shame and conviction — and why not feeling shame after a slip is actually a sign that God is presentWhat it means to want to be chosen by someone and how God's love meets that needHow to find the right person to confess to — and why discernment matters more than timingWhy nothing you have done can undo what Jesus did on the crossScriptures and references mentioned: Romans 8 — nothing can separate us from the love of GodHebrews 4 — since He was tempted in every way and did not sin He is our aid in temptationIsaiah 49:16 — behold I have engraved thee upon the palms of my handsJob — who are you to dictate what God can and cannot doIsaiah — how could the clay say to the potter what it deservesHosea — God's relentless pursuit of His people no matter how many times they turn away1 John 1:9 — He is faithful and righteous to cleanse us of all unrighteousnessFind Denver on Instagram and TikTok: @bigsis_denver Do you have a story to share? Helen Taylor | What Does Pornography Have to Do With Sex Trafficking?

Helen Taylor | What Does Pornography Have to Do With Sex Trafficking? In this episode, I am so honored to be joined by Helen Taylor, Vice President of Impact at Exodus Cry — a Christian organization dedicated to ending sex trafficking and holding the pornography industry accountable. Helen has spent 16 years working on the front lines of this fight, from outreach in strip clubs and brothels to producing documentaries that have shifted culture and changed laws. She is one of the most knowledgeable and passionate people I have ever spoken with on this subject. In this episode we cover: The real connection between pornography and sex traffickingWhether ethical porn actually existsThe age verification movement and why an 80% drop in traffic in Louisiana mattersWhat to do if you feel like you are part of the problemWhat God would say to someone struggling right nowI also get to share a little about my own experience being part of Helen's upcoming documentary, Girls on Porn — keep an eye out for that one. This episode genuinely left me fired up and full of hope. I think it will do the same for you.
