He Did Deliver Me From Bondage

I’ve been in an ARP group in Houston for over a year. My wife and I attend as a couple with @ 11 brothers and sisters. Baptized at age 65, a member for 8 years, I thought I didn’t need to work the steps “again” since I had 10-15 years before. A sister in a Come Follow Me class testified she just discovered HDDMFB and already gave 10 copies to her friends. So I ordered it with no other info. I discovered it was the original material that ARP used to begin the church program I was in. The difference in my life is that I am actively working each step with a live meeting at the Stake Center to share our experience, strength and hope and “meet” with Colleen and Lisa in the podcast. Thank you sisters for the light you share as servants of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I found the book He Did Deliver Me From Bondage nine years ago and knew immediately that it was an answer to prayer. I was so eager to devour everything as fast as I could, but also knew I needed to take the time to experience a deeper understanding of true doctrine. I took an entire year to read, ponder and apply, internalizing the 12 steps one at a time. I was delivered from bondage! However, I was surprised to find that my deliverance was from an intense self-loathing I had felt and believed for most of my life. Without that hatred permeating my mind and heart, I was able to feel my Savior’s love and change. I had received a new heart. I also realized I still needed more deliverance from other habits and behaviors and continued to use and apply Colleen’s book. I am grateful beyond words for this book and her willingness to be an instrument in God’s hands. When I found this podcast recently, I again felt so incredibly grateful! I have loved each episode and continue to learn and internalize and change as I listen. Thank you so much!

I love that it’s like a recovery group in action and that it walks you through baby steps (which is about my speed at this point). I’ve experienced so many insights into my thoughts and feelings through listening to these ladies talk through the principles behind each aspect of this book. Thank you for doing this podcast. It’s everything I didn’t know I needed!

I am so grateful to have this tool! To hear the faith building principles that are found in the 12 Steps then explained through the lens of the Book of Mormon truly assist me on my journey to know My Jesus.
