Exploring the transition from Prep School to Big School

Welcome to the Benedict House Prep School podcast, your chance to hear from staff, from the school community and possibly the most important, the pupils. This episode features a conversation with David Jackson, the head teacher of Farringtons School, and three students from the school. They discuss various aspects of the school, including its supportive and nurturing environment, academic and extracurricular activities, and the questions parents ask before their children join. The students share their experiences of joining the school, making friends, and their favorite subjects. The conversation also touches on the relationship between Farringtons School and Benedict House Prep School, the importance of inspiring teachers, and the responsibility of adults to remember their own school experiences. We then talk to Craig Wardle, Head of Benedict House Prep School and explore the transition from prep school to big school and the challenges faced by children and parents in choosing the right school. It emphasizes the importance of continued support and pastoral care in the new learning environment. The conversation also highlights the role of parents and children in the decision-making process and the need for a balanced approach. Seeking guidance and support from schools and educators is crucial in making informed decisions. Benedict House Prep School Website: https://benedicthouse.co.uk/

Full STEAM ahead! New learning spaces at Benedict House

Welcome to the Benedict House Prep School podcast, your chance to hear from staff, from the school community and possibly the most important, the pupils. In this episode we’re talking all about the recently-installed facilities at school by speaking first of all to Jenny Mollon, she’s from the company that provided the equipment, but then we speak to four children from Years 4 and 5 because I ask them what they really think of everything that’s been installed. Because it’s all well and good hearing the theory of why good learning spaces are important for the children but I really wanted to know what it’s actually like for them. So we hear from Caitlin, Oscar, Autumn and from Arthur. And then I even get the chance to sneak in a few questions from Mr Wardle, the Headmaster, to get his views on everything. It’s a very busy episode but it’s one I think you’re going to love. So come with me now as we speak to four of the pupils, the Headmaster and to Jenny Mollon from Kidzink. The mini-SLT at Benedict House with Headmaster Craig Wardle, Head Girl Jessica and Head Boy Dharam

Welcome to the Benedict House Prep School podcast, your chance to hear from staff, from the school community and possibly the most important, the pupils. This is episode one of the school’s new podcast channel and I’m super-excited to bring you not one, not two but three guests on this episode so we can really find out about life at the school. Craig Wardle is the Headmaster and he’s joined by two other Heads as well. Jessica is Head Girl and Dharam is Head Boy, together they make up part of the school’s mini-SLT, that’s Senior Leadership Team. So we’re about to hear how you apply to be part of mini-SLT, we hear what the important things are for the children at Benedict House Prep School and we hear about the favourite subjects our Head Boy and Head Girl enjoy at school. But I also ask Craig, the Headmaster, how he got into education, what he enjoys doing when he’s not in school and also why he believes a mini-SLT is so important. But stick around until right at the end of this recording to find out who the 4th mysterious guest is who trying to get in on the recording, see if you can hear who that might be. That’s all coming up in this episode. So come with me now as we speak to Dharam, to Jessica and, of course, to Headmaster Craig Wardle.
