    What Your Dreams Actually Mean In Islam | AlMaghrib Podcast

    In this episode Shaykh Ammar AlShukry sits down with Imam Ammar Shahin to talk about dreams, what they mean, and what happens when someone interprets one wrongly. Imam Ammar spent around ten years interpreting dreams for people before he walked away from it entirely, and in this conversation he explains exactly why.We get into the three categories the Prophet ﷺ divided dreams into, how to tell a true dream from a nightmare from your own nafs talking back to you, why a good dream is one part of forty six parts of prophethood, and how symbolism actually works so that the same image can mean two completely different things for two different people. Imam Ammar also takes apart the dream dictionaries sold under Ibn Sirin's name, most of which he never wrote, and explains why looking your dream up in a book is the fastest way to be misled.Then there are the stories. A man whose father appeared to him locked outside a garden, and the debt that was keeping him there. Ibn Sirin interpreting the falling moon and seven stars as his own death eight days before it happened. His wife interpreting a stranger's dream in his absence and what it cost that man.
