I Did Not Need to Stop Building. I Needed to Know Why I Was Building. A very different way of looking at ambition, money and success.

Episode Description For years, I tried to leave the entrepreneur in me behind. I had built a fashion business from almost nothing, starting with around €500 and eventually selling in more than 40 countries. I made my first million around the age of 25, learned everything from production to international growth, and became very good at the game of building a business. But there was a question I had never really asked myself: Why did I need to win? Looking back, I can see that some of my ambition came from a genuine love of creating and building, but some of it came from somewhere much more personal. I wanted to make money, I wanted to be successful, I wanted to be seen, and I wanted my father to see what I was capable of. When life eventually stopped the hamster wheel I had been running on, I began questioning not only what I had built, but the person I had become while building it. For several years, I went so far in the opposite direction that I almost rejected the entrepreneur in me completely. Now I understand that entrepreneurship was never the problem. I did not need to stop building. I needed to understand where I was building from. In this episode, I talk about ambition, money, success, pain, external validation and what changes when we become honest about the real reasons we want what we want. I also share why, after years of resisting the label, I am finally ready to say again that I am an entrepreneur. The ambition is still there. The love of building is still there. What has changed is the intention behind it. Because perhaps the most important question is not What do you want to build? It is: Why do you want to build it? In This Episode I share the story of building my fashion company from around €500 into an international business, making my first million around 25, and developing the instinct and skills that made entrepreneurship almost second nature to me. But we go much deeper than business. We explore what happens when ambition is partly fueled by pain and the desire to be seen, why external success cannot necessarily satisfy an internal need, and how easily achievement can become a sophisticated hamster wheel. I also talk about the years when I rejected my entrepreneurial identity, why I now see that as another form of denying myself, and what it means to build from a place of purpose without losing ambition, money, growth or the joy of the game. Most importantly, I invite you to ask yourself the question I wish I had asked much earlier: Why are you doing what you are doing, and would you still want it if nobody were watching? Chapters 00:00 Why I tried to stop being an entrepreneur 01:52 Loving the game versus needing to win 03:48 When pain and external validation drive ambition 05:57 The question I wish I had asked before building 07:52 Why I am redefining ambition rather than rejecting it 09:46 What changes when you start building from within 10:46 The question I want you to ask yourself

If Nobody Were Watching, Who Would You Become? The Life We Build Just to Be Seen

What if nobody were watching you? Nobody to impress. Nobody to make proud. Nobody to prove anything to. Who would you become? This question has been following me lately, and it made me realize something uncomfortable about my life: for many years, much of what I did came from one simple desire: to be seen. As a little girl, I wanted my parents to be proud of me. I wanted the best grades. I wanted to be the most talented girl in theater class. Later, the stage simply became bigger. I became an entrepreneur. I built brands. I wanted my work to appear in Vogue and other magazines. There was always another mountain to climb, another achievement, another way of saying: Look at me. See what I have done. But while becoming more visible to the world, I slowly became less visible to myself. And then life broke the hamster wheel. When my father suddenly died in a car accident, I did not only lose someone I deeply loved. I also lost one of the people I had spent my entire life trying to make proud. Without realizing it, I had to face a much bigger question: Who am I when the person I wanted to see me is no longer here? That question began a journey that has lasted more than twelve years. In this episode, I talk about finding my way back to the little girl I was before achievement became so important the girl who loved dancing, singing, writing and creating simply because it made her happy. Her audience was mostly the hens in my grandmother's garden, and occasionally two dogs who had very little choice about attending my daily performances. There was no applause, no outcome, no success metric. There was just joy. And maybe there is something important for all of us hidden there. Because underneath so many of the identities we build as adults, there may still be a little girl or boy whispering: Please see me. Please tell me I matter. Please be proud of me. Please love me. In this episode, I explore what happens when we stop creating our lives from that pain and begin creating from love instead. Not because somebody is watching. Not because it will make us important. But simply because something inside us feels alive when we do it. In this episode We explore the childhood desire to be seen and loved, how creative play can slowly turn into achievement, and what happens when external validation becomes part of our identity. I also share how losing my father forced me to confront who I was underneath my accomplishments, why writing became part of my journey home, and what I am learning about the difference between building from pain and building from love. And perhaps most importantly, I invite you to ask yourself: What did I love before I needed it to become something? Chapters 00:00 — If nobody were watching, who would you become? The question behind this episode and why I have been practicing it in my own life. 01:09 — I just wanted to be seen How the childhood desire to make my parents proud shaped my relationship with achievement. 02:23 — When play became achievement From singing and dancing for the hens in my grandmother's garden to entrepreneurship, Vogue and constantly searching for the next mountain. 05:56 — When life broke the hamster wheel Losing my father and realizing how much of my identity had been connected to being seen by him. 07:07 — Please see me. Please love me. Why our longing for validation is deeply human—and how easily we can build entire identities around it. 08:35 — When the role becomes our identity What happens when we become so good at being who others expect us to be that we lose connection with ourselves. 09:34 — What did you love before it needed an outcome? Returning to childhood passions, creativity and the things that make us feel alive simply because we love doing them. 11:12 — Learning to see with the heart Why I am increasingly fascinated by the unseen world and what becomes possible when we begin feeling more deeply. 12:09 — Building from love instead of pain The difference between creating because we need to be seen and creating because something genuinely wants to come through us. 13:13 — The journey home to yourself Why perhaps we do not need another mountain to climb. Maybe we need to remember who we were before we learned who we were supposed to become. A question for you After listening, give yourself a few quiet minutes and ask: If nobody were telling me who I should become, and nobody were watching me, who would I want to discover inside myself? Do not rush to answer. Go back to the child you were before everything needed an outcome. What did you love? What made you lose track of time? What would you still create if nobody ever applauded? Maybe you do not need to become someone new. Maybe you are simply finding your way home to yourself. Money Was Never the Problem: A Guided Meditation to Heal Your Relationship with Abundance

Do you worry about money? Not just the bills. That deeper feeling. The one that says, no matter how much you earn, it is never quite enough. That without it, you are not enough. I know that feeling. I lived inside it for a long time. I built a fashion company that traded across forty countries. I made more money than I ever imagined. And there were still days when I felt like the poorest person alive. The number was never the problem. My relationship with it was. I remember the day I checked my bank account and found it almost empty. The panic. The shame. I even felt ashamed that my husband was supporting me, not understanding that this was love, not charity. That was the day everything cracked open. Because what I found underneath the panic was not a money problem. It was a story I had carried since I was a little girl. Watching my mother work herself to exhaustion. Always chasing. Never resting. Never feeling it was enough. That story became mine. And I did not even know I was living inside it. Desperation does not attract abundance. Neither does control. Only love can do that. Only trust. Only surrender. This episode is a ten-minute practice I recorded for you. Not a strategy. Not five steps. A practice — the kind that shifts something from the inside. Press play. Ten minutes. That is all. WHAT YOU WILL FIND IN THIS EPISODE → Why money anxiety is almost never really about money  → The story you inherited — and how to finally recognise it  → Why chasing and controlling keep abundance away  → The difference between receiving and deserving  → A guided ten-minute morning practice to reset your relationship with abundance CHAPTERS 00:00 — Money as one of our greatest teachers  02:20 — The emotional root of money anxiety — my personal story  05:02 — The energy of scarcity versus the energy of abundance  10:55 — The practice of receiving — why we block what we want most  15:08 — How your inner state shapes your outer reality  16:32 — Closing thoughts and an invitation KEY TAKEAWAYS — Desperation and control do not attract abundance. Love and trust do.  — Your relationship with money is a mirror of your relationship with yourself.  — The stories we inherit about money are still running our lives today.  — Receiving is a practice. Closing yourself to support keeps abundance out.  — Abundance is not a number. It never was. THE BOOK This episode is taken from the chapter Money: One of Our Greatest Teachers in my book Let It Go — A Conversation with God and the Journey Back to Yourself. It is the most honest thing I have ever written. About losing myself. Finding my way back. And everything I had to let go of to get there. Do This Every Morning for 21 Days and Watch Your Life Change | 432Hz Morning Meditation

We spend so much of our lives listening to the noise outside that we forget the power that already exists within us. Even more importantly, we forget that every morning offers us an opportunity to consciously create our day before the world begins to shape it for us. This is why I invite you to join me in a simple challenge: Listen to this meditation every morning for the next 21 days. Do it as soon as you wake up, before checking your phone, before reading the news, before giving your energy away. It is only 10 minutes. Yet these 10 minutes can completely change the way you move through your day. The true magic is not outside of you. The magic lives in your awareness. It lives in your ability to choose your thoughts, your energy, your emotions, and the reality you want to create. This meditation is accompanied by 432Hz music, chosen to support relaxation, presence, and a deeper connection with yourself as you begin your day. I would love to hear about your experience. If this meditation supports you, please leave a comment, subscribe, and share your feedback. Your messages help me understand what resonates most and encourage me to continue creating these meditations for our community. I have received beautiful feedback from many of you after the evening meditations, and I am excited to begin this morning journey together. So tell me: Are you in for 21 days? With love, Crina Okumus Stop Searching Outside. Start Listening Within.
