    That’s My Jam!

Let us know what you think! What do a ’68 Mercury Cougar, a four-cylinder Camaro, Matchbox Twenty, and one very nervous Joshua have in common? Somehow, they all found their way into this episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D. Joe and Pastor Dewayne talk about what it means to dream big as a Christian—and whether our dreams should look different when God is involved. How can we tell the difference between a God-given calling and something we simply want? When should we wait, when should we move, and how do we know when it’s finally time to jump? They also wrestle with fear, failure, planning, conflicting advice, unexpected setbacks, and whether choosing the safe path can limit what God wants to accomplish through us. Plus, Pastor-D reveals what he might pursue if money, fear, and failure were removed from the equation. Can you be scared and still be following God? Does faith eliminate the need for a plan? And what exactly did Pastor-D mean when he said Christians have access to “the vault of the King?" Listen in—if you can get past the fact that someone willingly traded a classic Cougar for a four-cylinder Camaro. That’s My Jam!

Let us know what you think! This week on Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D, Joe sits down with the man who apparently believes Coke Zero qualifies as hydration to discuss prayer, spiritual warfare, and victory over darkness. After hearing powerful stories involving Patrick Toth and Mike Welch, we consider how many unseen prayers may be working behind the scenes in someone’s life—even when that person has no idea what God is doing. We also tackle an important listener question: Christians are called to obey the law, but what happens when the law is completely ridiculous? If you sing off-key in North Carolina, photograph the wrong rabbit in Wyoming, or encounter an unlicensed mouse hunter in Ohio, are you facing divine judgment—or merely some very confused local authorities? Then the conversation gets deeper. How can we recognize spiritual darkness without blaming a demon for every bad decision we make? Why is it sometimes easier to say yes to Jesus than to say no to another helping of dessert, a “little white lie,” or something else our flesh wants? We discuss unstable feelings, unanswered questions, prayer as spiritual warfare, surrendering to God before resisting the devil, and trusting that God may be rescuing us even when life appears to be falling apart. Is that difficult person really the enemy? Have we unknowingly wandered outside the fortress? Join us for an honest, humorous, and practical conversation about recognizing darkness, standing firm, and finding victory through Christ. That's My Jam with Pastor Dave!

Let us know what you think! What do guitar pedals, mathematical equations, Diet Coke, church unity, and the Body of Christ have in common? Believe it or not...quite a bit. This week, Joe sits down with Coast Life Church Worship Pastor Dave Chatham to talk about music, faith, and the incredible way God designed both. Along the way they tackle questions like: Is music actually built on God's universal language? Why do harmony and unity matter so much—in music and in the Church? How do you discover your spiritual gifts? And why do so many people think church exists to entertain them? They also dive into loneliness in a world that's more connected than ever, why Christians sometimes struggle to act like one body, and what the local church offers that social media never can. Of course, it wouldn't be Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D without a few laughs. Expect stories about Pastor Dave's dad, Diet Coke, loop stations, and Joe asking questions that somehow manage to connect theology with math. Whether you're a musician, a church member, or someone who's ever wondered where you fit in God's plan, this conversation will challenge you to find your place in the Body of Christ—and remind you that every part matters. That’s My Jam!

Let us know what you think! Is kindness becoming a lost art? In a world where outrage often gets more attention than compassion, what would happen if Christians became known first for their kindness? This week on Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D, Pastor Chatham (Pastor Dave's dad) and Joe unpack Jesus' words from Matthew 9:35–38 and explore His commission, His compassion, and His command. They discuss why Jesus compared people to sheep without a shepherd, what it really means to be "moved with compassion," and why the harvest is still plentiful while the workers remain few. Along the way, they tackle some challenging questions: Are churches waiting for people to come to them instead of taking the Gospel into the community? Why are Christians sometimes better at winning arguments than winning people? Is kindness a sign of weakness—or one of the greatest demonstrations of spiritual strength? As always, there's a little laughter, a little controversy, and a practical challenge for every believer. If you've ever wondered how to make a genuine difference in someone's life without standing behind a pulpit, this episode is for you. So grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and join us for another episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D. You may discover that changing the world starts with something as simple as... trying a little kindness. That’s My Jam!

Let us know what you think! Why do we celebrate our own victories but struggle to celebrate someone else's? Is jealousy one of Satan's favorite weapons? And why is it that the moment you need help moving a couch, everyone's back suddenly goes out? This week on Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D, Joe and Pastor D kick things off with a discussion about politics, church leadership, and whether Congress should come with an expiration date before diving into the classic 3 Doors Down hit "Kryptonite." From there, the conversation explores what it truly means to be a friend in a culture that desperately needs encouragement but seems to specialize in criticism. Along the way, you'll hear why Pastor D apparently thinks Joe smells amazing, discover why we've somehow never heard the story of him stealing a bicycle, learn why kindness can actually be terrifying, and find out how a sermon about friendship unexpectedly wandered into... cooking oil. As always. If you've ever wondered how to build genuine friendships, encourage others without sounding fake, or why so many people feel lonely even while sitting in a room full of Christians, this episode is packed with practical wisdom, plenty of laughs, and a few uncomfortable truths that just might make you a better friend. So grab a cup of coffee, call that friend you've been meaning to encourage, and join us for another episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D. That’s My Jam!

Let us know what you think! What happens when following Jesus makes you the weird one? In this episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D, Joe and Pastor D kick things off the only way they know how—with jokes about global warming, Donald Trump impressions, sparse holiday crowds, worshipping from a fishing boat, and whether Pastor-D's blood sugar needs to become a regular segment on the show. Then the conversation takes a serious turn. Drawing from the message "Overcoming the Voices Outside," they ask why Christians seem so determined to fit into a culture that often rejects the very values they claim to believe. Is being different actually part of the Christian calling? When does standing for truth become persecution...and when are we simply being difficult? Why does disagreement so quickly become hatred? The discussion also explores some uncomfortable but important questions: Should Christians expect to make people uncomfortable? Is being universally liked actually a spiritual warning sign? Why are we so afraid of what other people think?Has social media made us more concerned with public approval than God's approval? How should we respond when our faith is mocked or criticized? And what can American Christians learn from believers around the world who risk their lives simply for following Christ? This episode is funny, thought-provoking, and challenging all at the same time. Whether you've ever felt like you don't quite fit in, struggled with people-pleasing, or wondered why biblical truth seems so offensive in today's culture, this conversation will give you plenty to think about. One question lingers long after the microphones are turned off: If nobody is ever bothered by the way you live out your faith...are you following Jesus, or just following the crowd? Tune in and decide for yourself. Life Church Website Coast Life Church on Facebook Coast Life Church on YouTube Coast Life Church App Please send any questions to Joe at or text to 228-365-4156. That’s My Jam!

Let us know what you think! Can a pastor punch someone in the face and still preach on Sunday? That's just one of the questions Joe and Pastor-D tackle in this week's episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D. After discussing a Louisiana pastor arrested for defending his family against violent threats and the controversy surrounding Methodist seminaries standing firm on biblical doctrine, the guys dive into this week's message: "Overcoming the Voices in My Head." Why are we so quick to believe the lies we tell ourselves? Why is forgiveness described as health, not just something that's healthy? How do we know when we're listening to God's voice instead of our fears, our desires, or the Enemy's deception? And if Satan's tactics are so predictable...why do we keep falling for them? They also wrestle with questions every Christian eventually asks: Can you forgive someone without trusting them again? When should a Church restore someone who has fallen? Is it possible to mistake relief from anxiety for the voice of God?What does the devil actually gain by leading people away from Christ?Whether you're battling anxiety, wrestling with self-doubt, trying to discern God's direction, or you're just here to find out if Pastor-D needed a 2XL because the 1XL was "too cluddered," this episode has something for you. Warning: You may come for the jokes...but you might leave rethinking which voices you've been listening to all along.
