    61. She Couldn’t Walk… One Year Later, She Won a Dance Competition

Rachel Gitlevich woke up from a near-death seizure in Mexico essentially paralyzed from the neck down, asking her doctor the only question that mattered: will I walk again? He gave her one word to hold onto — hopefully. What happened next is almost unbelievable: from paralyzed to walker to walking unassisted, all in about two weeks. But this episode isn't just about recovery, it's about what she did with it. Once she was out of the hospital, still weak, still not driving herself anywhere, Rachel signed up for ballroom dance lessons. No plan, no expectations, just a pull toward moving her body again. A year after she couldn't feel anything below her neck, she competed in her first ballroom dance competition and took second place. We also get into everything else that led up to that moment: the seizure itself, relearning to walk in real time under a fall-risk alarm, finding her way back to her body, and the deeper thread running through her whole story, choosing to trust her intuition even when nothing about her life has followed a normal path. This is a conversation about rock bottom, recovery, and what's possible when you decide to move again anyway.#RachelGitlevich #MedicalMiracle #Recovery #BallroomDance #NearDeathExperience #Resilience #HealthJourney #Podcast #Inspiration #RealTalk #gettingtoknowyou #healingpodcast #personalstories Connect With Rachel 🌟 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rachel.gitlevich 🌟Book (What the Actual F**k): https://a.co/d/0fafuvtT 🌟Podcast (Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/show/1xid3ZPV4WxybZ4UKxTD7V🌟Website: rayofconsciousness.com🎙️ Don’t miss out!If you enjoyed this episode of Getting to Know You, hit the Subscribe button and turn on notifications 🔔 to stay updated on our latest deep-dive conversations.💬 Join the conversation! 60. The Person Behind the World's First "Elevated Bass Music" | DJ Eliza May

Eliza May is the founder of Elevated Bass Music, a genre she built from scratch by fusing dubstep and bass music with singing bowls, tuning forks, healing frequencies, and personal storytelling. In this episode, she traces the whole arc — how a psychic in Russia once told her parents "all she hears is music," a childhood shaped by her sister's death and years of isolation in Siberia, and how music school taught her to keep performing even while terrified of crowds. We get into how DJing found her by accident, how scratching led her to DJ Qbert's Scratch University and eventually to a plane ticket to America to train with him in person, and the dream in Bali where she heard the words "elevated bass music" and woke up knowing she had to build it.She walks us through what actually goes into her sets: chakra-matched singing bowls, tuning forks, subconscious affirmations mixed low enough that you can't consciously hear them but still feel them.If you care about the person behind the music as much as the music itself, this is the one.#ElevatedBassMusic #DJElizaMay #BassMusic #Dubstep #SoundHealing #WomenInMusic #ElectronicMusic #ArtistStory #MusicPodcast #elizamay #gettingtoknowyou Connect With Eliza • Instagram: @djelizamay• Instagram: @elizamay.music• YouTube: @elv8_elizamay• YouTube: @ElizaMayTv🎙️ Don’t miss out!If you enjoyed this episode of Getting to Know You, hit the Subscribe button and turn on notifications 🔔 to stay updated on our latest deep-dive conversations.💬 Join the conversation! 59. This Historian Says AI Will Eliminate Most Human Jobs Forever

Tim is a historian, organizational development technologist, and self-described "keeper of stories" and this conversation covers a lot of ground. We start with where his identity actually comes from: a 9th-century Irish abbot, a family crest built around wisdom and loyalty, and a recent psychedelic journey that sent him looking for his own soul after a coach told him he'd been living in liminal space for years, not months. From there we get into the real weight of the episode. Tim makes the case, as a historian, that there's no meaningful difference between a software engineer today and a peasant spinning wool 400 years ago — and that a huge number of jobs that exist right now are going away, never to come back for a human to do again. He walks through the industrialization era and its bloodshed as the historical precedent, then connects it directly to what AI is about to do to the modern workforce. We also dig into why most AI implementations inside companies fail (it's not the tech, it's the humans), what he learned building a self-organized company of 1,600 people with no bosses, and how leaders can actually let go of control without losing direction. Then Tim goes somewhere more personal: why Viking populations may be the most socially evolved on earth, the story of Maximilian Kolbe and the confirmation name Tim has carried since he was 17, and what he believes each of us has to be willing to sacrifice to survive this next era.If you've wondered whether your job is safe, or what history actually says about moments like this one, you need to watch full podcast episode. 55. The Secret Weapon Behind Zingara, Clozee, and Daily Bread

In this episode, David Schuneman talks about going from sitting in a cubicle in New Hampshire to creating visuals for artists like Clozee, Zingara, and Daily Bread. We get into the reality behind touring life, what it feels like to walk away from stability, and the pressure of chasing creative work when there’s no guaranteed path waiting for you. What hit me most was hearing how much uncertainty, obsession, and self-belief it actually took. This wasn’t some overnight success story. It was years of experimenting, learning, building visuals late into the night, and trusting that creativity could become something real.We also talk about AI, immersive visuals, artistic identity, burnout, and why human creativity still matters in a world that’s changing fast. This conversation is honest, messy, inspiring, and deeply human.#clozee #vj #creativecareer #edm #visualartist #tourlife #digitalart #musicindustry #artistjourney#gettingtoknowyou #creativity #cameronedwardbenton #actualizevisuals Connect With David SchunemanYoutube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC28NLIVQR99VEPWhOU349tgInstagram : https://www.instagram.com/actualizevisuals/Website : https://www.actualizevisuals.com/Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/actualizevisuals🎙️ Don’t miss out!If you enjoyed this episode of Getting to Know You, hit the Subscribe button and turn on notifications 🔔 to stay updated on our latest deep-dive conversations.💬 Join the conversation!
