    Saved People Serve People // I Love My Church // Part 5

    You said yes to Jesus, and now it's Monday. So what do you do with a saved life? A lot of us end up in the bleachers, rating the music and the message, when God made us to be on the floor. This week we looked at why church was never meant to be a show with a staff, what spiritual gifts really are (grace with a job attached), and why God covers the strength you think you don't have.     Love for the One // I Love My Church // Part 4

    There's a guy in Luke 19 that nobody in Jericho was making room for, a wealthy, despised tax collector named Zacchaeus who wanted a look at Jesus so badly he ran through the street and climbed a tree like a kid, just to see over the crowd. This week we looked at what happened next: Jesus stopped, looked up, and called him by name before Zacchaeus had repented, apologized, or handed back a single coin. We talked about why grace always moves first, the difference between feeling sorry and actually changing, and a story from one of our own church members about what it meant to simply be remembered by name. We closed by naming one person we've each quietly filed under a label instead of a name, and what it looks like to go after them this week.     Presence of God // I Love My Church // Part 3

    Solomon spent seven years and an unlimited budget building the most impressive room in the ancient world, and none of it produced what happened next. This week we looked at the moment a hundred and twenty priests picked up their trumpets, sang one unified note, and a cloud rolled in that stopped trained professionals cold in the middle of a job they'd rehearsed their whole lives. We talked about a nursery we painted years before our son ever cried for the first time, why preparation only ever gets you into the room, and what 2025 clinical research on awe says about an experience people have been pointing to for three thousand years. We also looked at four people in the Bible who each left one encounter with Jesus a completely different person than they were when they walked in.     Life Is Better Together // I Love My Church // Part 2

    In 2003, a hiker named Aron Ralston got his arm crushed under an 800 pound boulder in a Utah slot canyon, and what nearly killed him wasn't the accident. It was the fact that not one person knew where he was. This week we looked at an old book that says the same thing about your life: falling isn't the dangerous part, falling alone is. We talked about why an AI companion can never actually keep you warm no matter how good the conversation feels, what a Roman battle formation can teach you about real community, and why a triple braided cord might be the most accurate picture of your life you hear all year.
