#20 - Chris Hare: Narratives, Vision, Purpose, and The Future of Storytelling

In this episode, we talk to Chris Hare, CEO of The Storied Future and the host of The Storied Future Podcast. To start, we define what storytelling really is, what is the difference between stories and narratives, and how storytelling, and, specifically, atomic stories, helps businesses imagine the future, build strategies, and grow. We talk about how the change forces people and businesses to adopt and survive by creating stories and considering different possible futures. Chris shares a personal story that illuminated the profound influence narratives wield over our thoughts and interactions. We discuss the synergy of data and humanity, and the untapped tales that lie within data waiting to be discovered. Chris elucidates his mission to guide startup CEOs in forging captivating visions and shaping the future to their design, illustrated by inspiring real-world anecdotes. Further, Chris shares his experience with the Storied Future Podcast that he hosts and the stories his guests shared with him, the stories that transformed them as people and helped them to transform their companies. We examine the pivotal role of human-centric leadership, the quest for purpose, and the crafting of internal narratives. At the end, we challenge prevailing assumptions about the salvation of humanity through boundless computing power, AI, and technology. We highlight the societal impact, igniting a collective longing for purpose and profound connections. #15 - Alvin Orbaek White, PhD: Carbon Nanotubes, Digital Economy and The Future of Sustainability

In this episode, we talk to Alvin Orbaek White, Ph.D., CEO of TrimTabs, a science and engineering firm creating technology solutions for positive global impact. In his own words, Dr. Orbaek White is on a mission to build the world's first superconducting room temperature wire, replacing global energy infrastructure and saving 30% of lost energy in transmission. We start with an overview of carbon nanotubes (CNT). This fantastic material is lightweight, strong, and durable, leading to many applications and replacements of conventional materials. We discuss challenges with producing CNT, such as price and precision. We also focus on the problem of plastic waste and the novel ways of converting it to new materials, such as graphite, CNT, and hydrogen. We also talk about medical applications of CNT, such as simultaneous therapeutics and diagnostics (theranostics), drug delivery to the nucleus of a cell, and biomarkers for cancer treatment. We touch on the localization of feedstock material for supply chains, which is made possible with CNT and its applications in 3D printing. We move on to the concept of the Digital Economy and the democratization of the ability to do work. Finally, Dr. Orbaek White explains his role in the Digital Economy Crucible and the idea of electricity as the currency of the future built on blockchain technology. @VISION2222podcast Hosts: Mikhail, Amanda and John Guest: Alvin Orbaek White, PhD.  Resources Dr. Alvin Orbaek White: https://www.alvinorbaekwhite.com/ Contact: hello@trimtabs.ltd TrimTabs: https://trimtabs.co/ Digital Economy Crucible: https://www.swansea.ac.uk/computation...
