Good Grief by Martin100 days began as a creative audio project to record 100 consecutive days of creative work.     There's always a happy ending, it just depends when do you stop the story?

    Send us Fan Mail So when do you stop the story? This episode is about recovery from setbacks.  Setbacks confront us every day, so what can we do that’s in our favour to work through them and get back on track? A setback can be many things, it could be injury, a relationship breakup, health issues, an accident, the loss of a loved one and there are lots more examples that we could list. Depending on the severity or frequency of our setbacks, there is no doubt the experience can be debilitating. In time however and I am not making light of big life challenges, the fog will begin to clear and then it’s the actions we take or the choices we make that influence our recovery.  Being conscious of our self talk is another good habit to take on, how we speak to ourselves by simply reframing a situation can make a significant difference in how quickly we can get back on track. No one sees the movie unfolding in our mind, the rest of the world is just getting on with things while we ruminate, stress, get anxious and so on.  Striving towards growth and our full potential is a worthy pursuit and if we acknowledge that setbacks are just experiences and see them as learning opportunities and even signposts,  and with good choices we can improve and simplify our life journey towards our future self. My personal goal in aging is to be as mobile, effective and as cognitively able as I can and do what is within my power today to make small investments in that future me. Massive hugs to anyone who is struggling, I encourage you to be kind to yourself and become your own cheerleader today- you are worthy of a good life.     Send us Fan Mail Dilutional or Optimistic How we choose to describe the world and operate within it is entirely up to us. Sure, there are some rules — but experience and a lot of searching tells me we have the capacity to make magic in our lives and influence others along the way. This podcast is about recovery. Recovery from the loss of my son Buster some years ago, the slow journey back, and the moment I decided to accept that — as sad as it was — Buster wasn't coming back. That he could be my inspiration. That we could collaborate on how we chose to move forward in our lives. It begins with how we speak to ourselves. Set some things to work towards, and each day make an effort to make a little progress. Some days all we're doing is facing the right way and not moving at all — and other times we find it easy to make significant gains. The aim is to work in the direction of our core values, essential needs and personal interests; our hobbies, goals and developing new ones. Over many episodes I've shared the slow journey out of the fog and forward, to the point where we are now. MORE Mindful is in development, and we're working with Jurcevic Consulting to get it up online alongside the pending launch of the MORE Mindful app. By being more mindful, I've found there's time to work towards some of your lifetime dreams — to take on things you'd never imagined you were capable of — and through intentional living, to change how we see ourselves.     S14 Ep 3: Arriving at ENOUGH

    Send us Fan Mail Arriving at ENOUGH- This is a journey of discovery and recovery, creating good habits and making a few more better choices along the way. Discovering that we are enough is a revelation, that being good at being us means that we don’t have to be any one else and being MORE MINDFUL is the gift I’d like to share. What began as a 100 day creative commitment, soon turned into an effective lifestyle strategy. I quickly learned that there is no payoff or pot of gold at the end of this, just that the payoff is in the doing. It’s in the turning up regularly and the new insight and surprises that we are gifted along the way. I would like to encourage everyone make sure that fun and play are in bold in your story, choose good people to be in your world, notice if you need to rest, turn off the chatty negative voice in your head, eat well, learn something new and take time to be mobile and active. Armed with our core values and key areas of focus, now we have things to monitor and pay attention to, a simple life strategy that takes very little effort. This more conscious approach to living has made a significant difference in not only how I am living my life, its change the direction of what I am interested in too. I hope that this chat makes a small difference to how you turn up today. RIP- John Del Dosso- my work colleague passed away last week and we send love to his family. The decisions we make heavily influence the outcomes, and jeepers, sometimes we can really make it hard for ourselves, despite the people around us who care about us telling us otherwise. A word of advice: stick with the winners. Start making better choices and suddenly you're hacking the system, playing the game in your favour. You are worthy of a good life. We kick off Season 14 with a recap of a recent fundraiser for the Barbarian Group, raising funds for suicide awareness programmes — and what a night it was!     S13 Ep 6 Is this the life I ordered?

    Send us Fan Mail Last weekend Australia celebrated a very contentious holiday Australia Day, many feel that date needs to be changed and I tend to agree. That aside I was glad of the holiday and the surf that came with the long weekend. I have just finished a run of five fringe shows, doing comedy and storytelling. It was a great experience and off the back of these shows I have new ideas to develop, so really exciting stuff. This is 2026 the year of connection and self care and throughout this episode I will share a bunch of positive strategies to help you on your way. We discuss challenging your negative self chat and suggest some simple defusion techniques to do this using positive (green arrows pointing upward) and negative (red arrow pointing downward) thought bubbles. Deciding that today is the day to bring in new routines doesn't need to be too overwhelming and just by making small changes with regular attention, you will notice growth in multiple areas. A few tips for being a healthier human is;  quality rest, healthy eating, activity and connecting with others. FYI: Moderate activity stimulates creative thinking, this is a very cool tip and comes with a lot of positives too. A reminder that feeling good is determined by the actions that we take, not just about our emotions. Dopamine, Endorphins, Oxytocin and Serotonin are all mood enhancing brain chemicals stimulated by many of the actions we talk about in this episode.
