    Send us Fan Mail The long anticipated follow up interview with Mika to talk about her Class Afloat year abroad and sailing the high seas.  Mika's good friend Kylie was visiting from BC and we thought it would be fun to do a joint podcast where they could talk about the challenges and memories they experienced on the tall ship Alexander von Humbolt II.  They discussed their initial impressions of each other and how they became close.  This is a good episode for anyone who might be interested in what life on a tallship is like.

    Episode 45 - Logan Meadows from Play Abroad

    Send us Fan Mail After a long pause, we're back and this episode is an interview with Logan Meadows, an International Soccer Placement Expert with Play Abroad. We met Logan as he helped our son find a placement with Mendoza FC in Mendoza, Argentina.  Logan is a former player from the US who went to play in Europe as an adult and saw a need for a path to help North American players find spots in Europe. We talked about his past and how Play Abroad came to be.  He sees a lot of potential for growth for North American Soccer players and is eager to help many young players achieve their goals.  You can find Logan's company at playabroad.com and on all social media.

    Episode 44 - Mika Armstrong and her Class Afloat adventure!

    Send us Fan Mail On the day of her departure where she flew off to Germany, Mika and I recorded a conversation we had about her leaving for Class Afloat.  What she expects from the trip and her hopes for the experiences she will have along the way.  It wasn't easy saying goodbye to my oldest kid but I'm so damn proud of her for what she's already accomplished at such a young age.

    Episode 43 - Tony Mancini

    Send us Fan Mail Tony came back on the pod to talk about the upcoming election where he is running for re-election as the District 6 HRM Town Councillor.  We talked about what has changed for him since he became a councillor in 2016.  The topics we touched on involved some of the local issues such as the housing crisis and homelessness, what HRM and the province are doing and what the various levels of governments responsibilities are when it comes to matters such as this.      We touched on the proposed rehab center (AlCare Place Addiction Rehab Centre moving into the Keystone area) scheduled to set up and discussed local people's concerns around that project.    Tony is a person who is really empathetic to the people in his community and his efforts to help the people within our communities thrive are really commendable.  Thanks for coming back again, Tony and good luck with the upcoming election!

    Episode 42 - Jordan Forbes

    Send us Fan Mail Jordan joined me recently to talk about his life as a coach and personal trainer at Blended Athletics.  For the past three years, he has organized a fund raiser for Brain Cancer research due to it having closely affected him and his family in recent years.  To date, they have raised almost $55,000 with their annual event hosted at the wonderful Blended Athletics! Jordan embodies the philosophy of being a good person and making positive change that I really admire and want to celebrate.     Episode 41 - Tyler Paul - New Brunswick Bigfoot Organization

    Send us Fan Mail Those who know me know I like the subject of paranormal subjects as well as cryptids and one of my favorite subjects in that realm is Bigfoot.  I love the stories, videos, etc that pique my curiosity on the regular.  I've re-shared a story from Jodi who had an encounter when she was a kid that she shared when she was on the pod a while back. Tyler runs the New Brunswick Bigfoot Organization so I wanted to talk to him to learn about how he got into this subject, what it means to him and what someone can expect if they go to the conference they are hosting this summer. If you are interested in checking out their conference, it takes place at 1:00 pm on August 24, 2024 at the Irishtown Nature Park near Moncton, NB.  I hope I can be there to gather some stories from people who attend to share here in the future.

    Episode 40 - James Turple - Complain while you still can

    Send us Fan Mail It's been a minute!  Jimmy came by to have a fireside chat, rant and rave about all kinds of hot button topics.  This is a bit of an airing of greivances with the status of things.  If you think everything is just fine, this might not be the episode for you. There was beer, swearing, several pee breaks and neighbors dogs barking during the recording, what more could you ask for!

    Episode 39 - Ruth Wagner

    Send us Fan Mail I've wanted to do an interview with my mother, Ruth, so she could share her story.  She's had an interesting life to say the least and she's often said she'd like to write a book about it all.  Well, I'm no author but I'm a bit of a podcaster so I thought this would be a good one.   This episode deals with some heavy issues including the loss of loved ones due to tragic circumstances.  There were lots of tears but the main theme of this discussion is perseverance and fortitude, both of which my Mom has in abundance.  Her love of family is second to none and I'm fortunate to have her in my life.  Love you, Mom! Also, the first few minutes sound a bit wonky but I sorted the mics out and it got better after the first 10.  My endless struggle with audio continues!
