    The Holy Grail of Distribution

    Most advisors focus on the accumulation of money - how to grow and reduce risk. We want to pay attention to distribution - when it is time to use your money. What you need money for is more important than how much money you have. It is true - you need lots of money to make it in today's world. Different financial tools do the different financial jobs of life better than others. In accumulation, if you have 15-20 non-correlated assets you theoretically reduce your risk to zero on the way up. The same is true on the way out.     The One, Big, Beautiful(?) Bill

    We take a look at this massive piece of legislation signed into law in early July 2025. Key Question: Does this legislation help us in regards to The Future Poor or does it only make it worse? The end of income tax on Social Security? Not exactly. You might get a tax credit, but the tax is still there. Medicaid? The Bill will move almost 11 million seniors and children off Medicaid in the next few years. CHIP? Child Health Insurance Program is part of the $1 Trillion reduction of benefits. 16 Million - Estimate of the number of people that will be uninsured after the OBBB goes into effect. Most of this number is the elderly, children, disabled, and other vulnerable communities. Food? 20% of the people on SNAP (food stamps) are seniors over the age of 60 that depend on the program for food and up the age for work requirements. Social Security runs out sooner? Many estimate that this will speed up Social Security's insolvency from 2035-6 to 2032-3. Be sure to check out Jon's new book, The Future Poor.

    Buying Cars

    Cars have quickly become most people's second largest expense after housing, and it keeps on getting more expensive! Lease v. Own Used v. New Loan v. Cash What's the right answer?! (Hint: There isn't one.) Every situation dictates what makes the most sense. Total cost of ownership becomes a big thing to consider. It's not just the cost of purchase. Fuel/electricity, repairs upkeep, insurance, etc. How much are tires? Brakes? Can you have a nice or luxuries car on the less expensive side? Often times you can find nice used cars, with warranties that may reduce total cost.
