I research  information  about the services available to veterans and discuss stories surrounding the history of the VA and heroes who have served our country.     Women's Air Service Pilots

    During WWII there was a need for aircraft to be flown to various points across the country. Male pilots were assigned to combat missions. This left a void for this need. Women pilots were hired to continue these flights. They were hired by the U.S. Army Air Corp. as private contractors to fly military aircraft. This is their story.
