    Sugar is a major part of our diet, but it's also a significant contributor to many health problems, including obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.  Dr. Burford-Mason explains too much sugar can lead to a number of health problems. For example, sugar can raise blood sugar levels, which can lead to obesity and diabetes. Sugar can also damage the liver and kidneys, and it can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. Sugar is a major part of modern diets, but it's also a significant contributor to many health problems, including obesity, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. As the amount of sugar we consume has increased dramatically our health has deteriorated Dr. Burford-Mason explains some of the negative effects of too much added sugar – higher blood pressure, weight gain and generalized inflammation. She describes how the rapid absorption of sugar into the bloodstream causes a brief energy boost, followed by a crash, and how this causes cravings for more sugary foods, which can affect focus and concentration and trigger anxiety.
