    Kimi Antonelli won the 2026 United States Grand Prix at COTA. Joe Saward says that, barring a miracle, he will be crowned world champion at the very next race. Ferrari looked strong all weekend and still left Austin without converting. Max Verstappen was unhappy on the radio and finished on the podium anyway. And with Mexico City next, Dick explains why altitude turns the setup puzzle upside down. But the story Sabrina couldn’t stop thinking about was on the other side of the garage. George Russell and Oscar Piastri are proven race winners, and right now their teammates are beating them. So she asks Dick, a championship-winning racer himself, the question most coverage skips: how does a driver at this level work through that?     Does growing up on your family's own racetrack make the climb to Formula One any easier?  Dick and Sabrina sit down with Truly Adams, whose family owns and operates Adams Motorsports Park in California, and who was literally sitting on his dad's lap on track before he could walk. They get into what changed technically in the jump from a KZ shifter kart to a Formula 4 car, how Truly thinks about return on investment for the sponsors backing him, and the daily reality of a fourteen-year-old spending as much time on the phone pitching partners as he does turning laps. There's a number in this conversation, what a season of Formula 4 actually costs, that reframes everything else he says about talent. Whether a racetrack in the family changes that math at all is left open.     Listener Jake, a newer fan, asked why it seemed like Formula 1 teams didn't want Andretti entering the sport, and whether there's history behind it.  Joe Saward lays out what actually happened: Michael Andretti's attempt to buy an existing team, the FIA's approval of a new entry over the objections of Formula One's commercial rights holder, and a legal fight from a rejected rival bidder that eventually exposed bias in the process. Dick brings the American perspective on the Andretti name and its limits outside the U.S.  Along the way, they cover a U.S. government investigation that ultimately helped resolve the standoff, and how a private equity-backed Cadillac entry ended up succeeding where the Andretti name alone could not. Whether this was a one-off or a preview of how F1 will handle the next disruptor is where they leave it.     Race Review | 206 | 2026 Singapore Grand Prix | Verstappen Finally Wins Singapore

    Max Verstappen finally won the Singapore Grand Prix, from pole, at the one race that had always gotten away from him. Charles Leclerc finished second. Kimi Antonelli finished third. For long stretches, that was about all there was to say. So Dick, Joe Saward, and Sabrina spend this race review on a harder question: can a race be dull and still be Formula 1? Joe has covered decades of races where nothing happened. Dick knows what a real pass takes from behind the wheel. Sabrina keeps coming back to the newer fan who set an early alarm, or flew halfway around the world, and got this one. And then there is the sprint, which gave us more drama on Saturday than Sunday did. Joe explains exactly why it exists. Whether that is a good enough reason is left wide open. Lewis Hamilton started third and finished sixth. The McLaren teammates collided in the sprint, and Joe has a clear read on the fallout, including what it means for Oscar Piastri. Kimi Antonelli can mathematically clinch the championship at COTA. Mathematically. Joe has also been reading the teams’ financial returns, and the numbers are not what most fans would guess, including which team gets the most for its money. And Formula 1 is heading back to Africa, to Rwanda, in the early 2030s. Joe explains who is helping pay for it, and why. Plus, listener Rao asked a question about a team name that turned out to be bigger than it sounds. It is getting its own conversation. A first win that barely registered. A Saturday that may have stolen Sunday’s thunder. And a sport still deciding how much patience it can ask of you. And one slip of the tongue we told our editor to keep in. Joe describes the driver-media relationship as exactly that, a relationship, not a transaction, and walks through what separates the drivers the press trusts from the ones they don't. He talks about the British-dominated media landscape, the danger of media training that just teaches drivers what not to say, and a story about a driver he met at thirteen that shaped a decades-long relationship. Sabrina and Dick sit down with Daniel Ramirez, a thirteen-year-old racer out of California who has built a self-review process most adults would envy. They get into how Daniel and two separate coaches, one in the US, one based in Europe, break down his race footage every week and land on the same conclusions about what worked and what didn't. They also talk about the jump from California's local scene to the FIA-connected Champions of the Future Americas series, the eight-hour drives that count as a normal race weekend, and what Daniel thinks the ladder to Formula One actually requires. Whether that ladder holds together for an American racer without a European base is a question this conversation raises more than it answers.     Max Verstappen won the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix in the rain at Sepang, the first Formula 1 victory for Red Bull Ford Powertrains. It is not what Dick, Joe Saward, and Sabrina spent this race review on. After a long rain delay, a software glitch on the formation lap left Sabrina with a question she could not shake: if software can step in between a driver and the car, how do you trust what you are watching? All three agreed Formula 1 did not look its best in Malaysia. Whether that was one bad day or a sign of something bigger is where they part ways.
