Episode 155: What Turning 35 Taught Me About Success, Self Worth, Love and Life

Episode 155: What Turning 35 Taught Me About Success, Self Worth, Love and Life What does it actually mean to be successful at 35? As I entered my 35th year, I had a strange few weeks where I found myself questioning my life, my choices and whether I should be further along by now. I wondered what I had to show for 35 years. And then I realised how much of that questioning came from societal expectations and my own ideas about what success is supposed to look like. Because success isn't always tangible. Neither are happiness, love, impact or the way you make another person feel. In this honest solo episode, I share the lessons I've learned through 35 years of living, losing, loving, healing, building, falling apart and beginning again. I share my lived experience around some of the biggest lessons I've had to learn: • Asking for help instead of believing I have to do everything alone
• Letting go of control and learning to trust life
• Dropping expectations and choosing joy
• Moving my body and remembering that life is meant to be felt
• Releasing the pressure to have everything figured out
• Redefining what success actually means to me
• Learning that what is intangible can still be incredibly real And perhaps most importantly, I want to remind you that you are not behind. Whether you're 25, 35, 45 or 65, there will be moments when you question whether you've done enough or whether you are enough. You are. Your life doesn't need to look a certain way for it to matter. Life is messy, unpredictable and sometimes incredibly hard. It is also beautiful, colourful, hilarious, heartbreaking and filled with moments of extraordinary joy. That is the polarity of being alive. You are the captain of your ship. The ocean will move regardless, but you still get to choose the direction you steer. And perhaps you won't always end up where you thought you would. But that doesn't mean you've gone wrong. This episode is an invitation to stop measuring your life against someone else's timeline, come back to yourself, and remember that life is for learning. Episode 154: Your Worth Is Not Your Productivity: Healing Burnout Through Self Love

Your Worth Is Not Your Productivity: Healing Burnout Through Self Love What happens when you've built a successful life but still don't feel worthy, fulfilled, or truly connected to yourself? In this powerful conversation, Sherisse is joined by author and self love coach Jasmyn Quiana to explore the deeper relationship between burnout, self worth, self love, and manifestation. Jasmyn shares her journey from working more than 60 hours a week in a high pressure corporate career to experiencing burnout so severe that she was placed on short term disability leave. That moment became a catalyst for a profound transformation and ultimately led her to develop a holistic approach to self love, embodiment, and manifestation. Together, Sherisse and Jasmyn explore why high achieving women can become so attached to productivity and achievement that they unconsciously measure their worth by what they do, rather than who they are. In this episode, we explore: Why achievement and productivity can become tied to self worthThe hidden connection between burnout and a lack of self loveWhat "absolute self love" really meansHow embodiment and energy work can support deeper healingWhy manifestation isn't simply about thinking positively or wanting moreHow to reconnect with your worth beyond your career, business, success, or achievementsWhy true self love requires embracing your whole self rather than only the parts you deem successful Jasmyn also shares insights from her book, *Self-Love: The Real Secret to Manifesting Your Dream Life*, including her 12 pillars of absolute self love and the practices that helped her move from burnout into a life that feels more authentic and aligned. This conversation is especially powerful for the woman who has achieved so much, yet knows there's a deeper level of fulfilment available to her. Because your worth was never something you had to earn. You were worthy before the achievements, before the success, before the productivity, and before anyone else validated you. The real transformation begins when you finally embody that truth. Episode 153: Why Confidence Isn't the Answer What Women Actually Need to Feel Alive Again

Episode 153: Why Confidence Isn't the Answer What Women Actually Need to Feel Alive Again For years, I believed my work was about helping women become more confident. But recently, I've realised it's something much deeper. Confidence isn't the destination. Safety is. Because when a woman truly feels safe, she naturally becomes more confident. She stops performing. She stops proving. She stops carrying the pressure of being everything for everyone else. She begins to breathe again. In this deeply personal solo episode, I share how my own work has evolved and why I've come to believe that the greatest transformation isn't learning another strategy or collecting more personal development tools. It's creating the inner safety to finally live everything you already know. In this episode, we explore: • Why confidence is often the result of healing rather than the starting point • The hidden difference between surviving and truly feeling alive • Why so many high achieving women understand their patterns but still struggle to change them • How safety creates the foundation for confidence, self trust, and authentic expression • Why personal growth isn't about becoming someone new but remembering who you were before survival became your normal • What it really means to come home to yourself I also share why this realisation inspired me to create **From the Ashes**, a space for women who have done so much of the inner work but are ready to bridge the gap between knowing and embodying. If you've ever thought, "I've done so much healing, so why do I still feel disconnected from myself?" this episode is for you. Because perhaps the life you're longing for isn't waiting for you to become more confident. Perhaps it's waiting for you to feel safe enough to fully come alive.

Episode 152: Menopause, Midlife & Self Worth: How Women Can Reclaim Their Power at Any Age

Episode 152: Menopause, Midlife & Self Worth: How Women Can Reclaim Their Power at Any Age What if menopause wasn't something to survive, but an invitation to rediscover yourself? In this deeply inspiring episode, Sherisse is joined by midlife and menopausal midwife Sally Berg for a powerful conversation about identity, healing, feminine power, and why the second half of a woman's life can become her most liberating chapter yet. Sally shares her own journey through trauma, depression, and profound personal transformation, revealing how discovering embodiment practices, Tantra, and nervous system healing led her to create her signature approach that helps women reconnect with themselves during midlife and menopause. Together, Sherisse and Sally challenge the cultural narrative that ageing is something to fear. Instead, they explore how this season of life can become an opportunity to reclaim confidence, pleasure, wisdom, and a deeper connection to your authentic self. In this episode, we explore: Why so many women lose their sense of identity during midlife and menopauseThe connection between nervous system regulation, embodiment, and emotional wellbeingHow Western culture views ageing differently from many Indigenous traditionsWhy pleasure, movement, and self-connection are essential parts of healingPractical ways to create inner safety and reconnect with your bodyHow menopause can become a powerful catalyst for self reclamation rather than self loss Sally also shares the philosophy behind her "Reclaim Woman" methodology and her "Mature Eros" programme, offering practical tools to help women embrace this stage of life with greater confidence, vitality, and self compassion. Whether you're approaching menopause, moving through it, or simply longing to reconnect with the woman beneath the roles you've carried for everyone else, this conversation is a beautiful reminder that it is never too late to choose yourself. Because your most powerful chapter doesn't begin when everything is perfect. It begins the moment you remember who you are. About Sally Sally Berg is a visionary trailblazing midlife & menopause mentor and embodiment coach revolutionising how women experience midlife. Episode 151: "If I Don't Do It, No One Else Will" The Hidden Cost of Being the Strong One

Episode 151: "If I Don't Do It, No One Else Will" The Hidden Cost of Being the Strong One Have you ever caught yourself thinking... "If I don't do it, no one else will." At first, it sounds like responsibility. Like leadership. Like being dependable. But what if it's actually one of the biggest stories keeping you stuck? In this solo episode, Sherisse explores one of the most common patterns she sees in high achieving women. The need to hold everything together, stay in control, anticipate everyone else's needs, and carry responsibilities that were never yours to begin with. Although these behaviours are often praised, they usually come at a cost. Burnout. Resentment. Disconnection. Feeling unsupported. And quietly believing that asking for help isn't really an option. Sherisse explores how these patterns are often rooted in childhood, where being responsible, capable, or emotionally aware became a way of creating safety. The problem is that what once protected you may now be preventing you from receiving the support, love, and ease you've been longing for. In this episode, we explore: Why so many high achieving women struggle to let go of controlThe hidden link between people pleasing, micromanaging, and feeling responsible for everyone elseHow over-functioning keeps other people from stepping forwardWhy doing everything yourself doesn't create safety, it creates exhaustionThe difference between healthy responsibility and survival modeHow to begin creating space for support instead of carrying everything alone This episode is an invitation to notice where you've been equating your worth with how much you can carry. Because perhaps the strongest woman in the room isn't the one holding everything together. Perhaps she's the one who finally trusts that she doesn't have to. Episode 149: Why Peace Feels Uncomfortable for High Achieving Women (And How to Finally Trust It)

Episode 149: Why Peace Feels Uncomfortable for High Achieving Women (And How to Finally Trust It) Have you ever noticed that just as life starts to feel calm... you suddenly find yourself overthinking, overworking, worrying, or creating another problem to solve? What if nothing is actually wrong? What if peace simply feels unfamiliar? In this solo episode, Sherisse explores one of the most common patterns she sees in high achieving women. After years of living in survival mode, carrying responsibility, and holding everything together for everyone else, many women discover that when life finally slows down, they don't know how to trust it. Instead of resting, they brace. Instead of receiving, they prepare for something to go wrong. Not because they're broken, but because their nervous system has learned that chaos feels familiar and peace feels uncertain. In this episode, we explore: Why high achieving women often feel uncomfortable when life becomes calmHow childhood experiences can shape your relationship with peace and safetyThe hidden ways we recreate stress, even when we say we want more easeWhy healing isn't just about letting go of pain, but learning to receive peaceHow to recognise when you're operating from old survival patterns instead of your authentic selfPractical reflections to help you begin trusting calm rather than fearing it Sherisse also shares insights from the women she has worked with through She Rises and her coaching, revealing why so many successful women unknowingly wear responsibility as armour and why learning to soften is one of the bravest things we can do. If you've ever felt guilty for slowing down, found yourself waiting for the next thing to go wrong, or struggled to enjoy the life you've worked so hard to create, this episode will help you understand why. Because healing isn't just learning how to survive life's storms. It's learning how to feel safe when the sun finally comes out. Episode 148: Dressing as Your Authentic Self The Link Between Confidence and Personal Style

Dressing as Your Authentic Self The Link Between Confidence and Personal Style What if getting dressed was about so much more than fashion? In this inspiring episode, Sherisse is joined by holistic style coach Christina to explore the powerful connection between personal style, confidence, identity, and self expression. Christina shares her journey of embracing her individuality from a young age, including the story of wearing a red corduroy dress to school when her family couldn't afford the correct uniform. What could have been a source of shame became the beginning of a lifelong understanding that true confidence comes from owning who you are rather than fitting in. Together, Sherisse and Christina explore how many women lose themselves beneath the expectations of motherhood, careers, relationships, and success, forgetting that the way we present ourselves is often a reflection of how connected we feel to ourselves within. This conversation isn't about following trends or buying a whole new wardrobe. It's about using style as a tool for self expression, self trust, and coming home to the woman you truly are. In this episode, we explore: Why personal style is deeply connected to confidence and self worthHow clothing can become a reflection of your authentic identityWhy so many women stop expressing themselves as they get olderSimple ways to reconnect with yourself through intentional style choicesThe difference between dressing to fit in and dressing to feel alignedHow confidence grows when you give yourself permission to be seenChristina also shares practical tips for women wanting to rediscover their style, from making small intentional changes to embracing the colours, textures, and pieces that genuinely reflect who they are. If you've ever opened your wardrobe and felt like you've lost a part of yourself, this conversation is a beautiful reminder that confidence isn't something you put on. It's something you uncover. Sometimes the smallest act of choosing yourself, even through what you wear, can become the beginning of remembering who you've always been. About Christina Christina Avraam is a speaker, style coach and founder of be stylish be seen.
