What to do when vision is blurred?

What do we do when we believe God has given us a vision, but the way forward still feels unclear? In this powerful message from Daventry, Pastor Kevin Kirkland explores the story of Jesus healing a blind man in Mark 8:22–26. The man’s sight was restored in stages, reminding us that receiving vision does not always bring immediate clarity. Sometimes Jesus opens our eyes and then teaches us to trust Him as our focus becomes clearer. Pastor Kevin looks at what it means to allow Jesus to lead us, even when we cannot see the way ahead. We can have partial sight without full clarity, and sometimes we need to honestly pray, “Jesus, will you touch my eyes again?” Our experiences, disappointments, fears and past failures can all become lenses through which we view our circumstances. But what happens when we take off those lenses and ask Jesus to help us see things as He sees them? This message is also connected to the season ahead for Daventry Elim as we seek God for His vision and purpose for the church and the town. We may not know every detail of what lies ahead, but we can know who is leading us. If your vision feels blurred, your circumstances are unclear, or you’re trying to understand what God is doing in your life, this message is an encouragement to keep holding onto Jesus and trust Him for greater clarity. “Lord, let me see what you see.” “Jesus, will you touch my eyes again?” #PastorKevinKirkland #DaventryElim #Daventry #ChristianSermon #Jesus #Faith #SpiritualClarity #Vision #Mark8 #Christianity #ChurchVision #TrustGod #HolySpirit #FaithInJesus

    Faith That Submits

In the final message of our Faith That Works series through the book of James, Pastor Jon Skelton explores what it means to have a faith that submits — a faith that willingly surrenders to God’s Word, God’s will and God’s ways. Drawing from James 4:7–8, Pastor Jon reminds us that submission to God is the foundation for resisting the devil and drawing closer to God. True submission isn’t about restriction or bondage; it leads to freedom, purpose, protection and the fullness of life that Jesus promises. Through the example of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, the call to follow God’s will even when it’s difficult, and the story of Simon Peter in Luke 5, we’re challenged to develop a faith that says: “But because you say so, I will.” Maybe you feel tired, disappointed or like you’ve tried everything and caught nothing. This message is a reminder that God may be calling you to drop your net again, trust Him again and go again. Sometimes faith means surrendering our plans and choosing God’s plans, even when they don’t make sense. As we bring Faith That Works to a close, the challenge is simple: Are we willing to stop striving, make room for God and submit our lives completely to Him? “Submit yourselves, then, to God… Come near to God and he will come near to you.” — James 4:7–8 Listen to Faith That Submits and discover how surrender to God can lead to a deeper, stronger and more active faith. #FaithThatSubmits #FaithThatWorks #PastorJonSkelton #RugbyElim #BookOfJames #ChristianFaith #Faith #Jesus #SurrenderToGod #TrustGod #ChristianPodcast #Sermon #Church #James4

    Faith That Speaks

What does our faith sound like? As part of our Faith That Works series through the book of James, Pastor Joe takes us into James 3:1–12 to explore the power of our words and what they reveal about the condition of our hearts. The tongue may be small, but it has enormous influence. Our words can build people up or tear them down, bring life or cause destruction, encourage or wound. James uses powerful images of horses, ships, fire and springs of water to show us just how significant our speech really is. Pastor Joe challenges us to consider whether our words reflect the faith we profess. If we praise God with our mouths but use those same mouths to curse, criticise or tear others down, what does that reveal about our hearts? True faith should affect not only what we believe and how we live, but also how we speak. But Faith That Speaks is ultimately about more than simply watching what we say. It is about discovering the life-giving power of confession. As Romans 10 reminds us, when we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, we find salvation. Our confession of faith is not just something we make at the beginning of our Christian journey. It is something we make every day — on the mountaintops and in the valleys, in joy and in suffering, in the moments when faith feels easy and in the moments when we need to hold on to it most. Listen as Pastor Joe encourages us to let our words reflect our faith, speak life to those around us, and remain unashamed in our confession that Jesus is Lord. #FaithThatWorks #FaithThatSpeaks #RugbyElim #BookOfJames #ChristianFaith #JesusIsLord #Faith #Words #Sermon #Church #BibleTeaching
