The grand black-tie and ball-gown occasion will be more than a celebration of artistic excellence. It will mark a remarkable journey, one that mirrors South Africa’s own transition from exclusion to democracy, diversity and inclusion. Today, Artscape is proudly regarded as a people’s theatre of choice, presenting world-class productions to audiences from all communities almost daily. Artscape stands as a living cultural institution carrying the memory of where South Africa has come from while continuing to shape where its creative future is going. The Artscape has been a vibrant home to the Cape Town and the Western Cape’s heritage, diversity and creativity for 55 remarkable years. It has showcased world-class productions while providing a vital platform for emerging artists and new voices. I have enjoyed many memorable evenings at Artscape, celebrating the best of what our diverse cultures bring to the arts. This theatre’s commitment to nurturing talent, supporting education and making the arts accessible has strengthened our cultural landscape and creative economy. I congratulate everyone who has helped make Artscape a cornerstone of our province’s cultural life. May the next 55 years inspire even greater creativity, inclusion and excellence.

    Nansi Rail was established in Feb 2026 by Sisa Ngondo its Founder CEO. This innovative rail tourism company was started after Sisa left his fulltime employment. Sisa is a seasoned tourism development practitioner with expertise in tourism product development, community based tourism and local economic development. Sisa has more than 18 years of experience in the City of Cape Town Tourism and Economic Development Departments. Prior to the City employment Sisa has been part of various other private companies where he mastered retail, sales and marketing amongst others. Nansi Rail offers three rail tours Langa, Kalk bay and Vredenheim Farm.
