Meraki Dance Festival • Presented by Jazzart Dance Theatre, this is an Expanded Two-Week Celebration of Dance and Storytelling and the 2nd annual Meraki Festival. • Week one in the Arena • Week two in the Artscape Theatre • More than 10 dance companies will showcase a variety of contemporary dance pieces. • Workshops and masterclasses – for dance groups and keen dancers to participate in • The festival is for everyone and is growing year on year and is a wonderful way to escape into the imagination and an experience that will leave audiences lifted and spirits rejuvenated.     Sezela: A season in the sun with Kiren Thathiah

    Kiren Thathiah is a creative academic; Born in Durban, his teacher father decided to move away from Durban to, initially, Umkomaas, then Sezela and back to Umkomaas before returning to Durban almost twenty years later. These formative years shaped Kiren's worldview in ways that no formal education ever could. He studied at the University of Durban Westville when he eventually lectured in Fine Art, History of Art and Public Management.     Face Adrenalin – Bloukrans Bungy with Thomas Ngomana

    About the Bloukrans Bungy The Bloukrans Bridge is 216 meters high. When you bungy Bloukrans, you’ll free-fall to a maximum of about 160 metres (depending on your weight and the cord you jump on). We secure you in a full-body harness combined with ankle connection to ensure your safety. We use pendulum bungy technology (the cord is secured to the opposite side of the bridge from the launch platform) so that you’ll enjoy the smoothest, most comfortable bungy on the planet. When the cord pulls you out of your free-fall, you’ll immediately segue into a huge pendulum swing as you rebound towards the bridge. After your bungy, you’ll be retrieved by a member of our crew via winch and cable. We offer single jumps only (no tandems): this is a very personal journey from fear to elation. Our walking tours of the Bloukrans Bridge are designed for people who prefer not to jump, but who nevertheless want the experience of walking out to the top of the bridge’s arch via our suspended mesh walkway (which is attached to the underside of the road deck).
