Be Still and Know that I am God

Season 2 Finale Have you ever felt like everything was falling apart… only to later realize that things were actually falling into place? In this final episode of Season 2, I reflect on the powerful phrase repeated throughout scripture: Be still and know that I am God. This message of stillness has been a lifeline for me—especially in seasons when life felt overwhelming, uncertain, or heavy. In this episode, I share what it means to me to be still, how it connects to trusting in the Lord’s timing, and why daily spiritual habits help me find peace in the middle of life’s chaos. I open up about a personal crash-and-burn moment when I was trying to do everything and realized I couldn’t keep all the plates spinning. It was through stillness—and the cycle of connecting with God, self, and others—that I found my way back to joy and purpose. This pattern has shaped everything I do now, including the Shine On Bullet Journal and my upcoming 8-week coaching program. If you’re craving a fresh start or deeper peace in your daily life, this episode is for you. Let’s practice stillness, trust more, and shine on—together. Quote from the episode: “I believe the Lord’s admonition to “be still” entails much more than simply not talking or not moving. Perhaps His intent is for us to remember and rely upon Him and His power “at all times and in all things, and in all places that [we] may be in.” Thus, “be still” may be a way of reminding us to focus upon the Savior unfailingly as the ultimate source of the spiritual stillness of the soul that strengthens us to do and overcome hard things.” Elder David A. Bednar Journal Prompts: How have I seen God in the details of my life today? What is one habit that can increase inner stillness?Considering my connection with God, myself, and others— which one needs more focus right now?🌟 Special Note: This episode wraps up Season 2 of the Shine On Podcast. I’ll be back in the fall with more inspiration and spiritual insights in Season 3. In the meantime, I’m launching my first 8-week habit tracking program using the Shine On Bullet Journal starting July 1! If you’re ready to build spiritual and personal habits that last, come join us. Registration is open now through June 30, and then again September 15 for the fall season. A Mighty Change of Heart

What does it really mean to have “a mighty change of heart”? In this episode, I reflect on Alma 5 and how that phrase first touched my soul as a teenager reading the Book of Mormon in a tent during a family camping trip. Since then, I’ve asked myself again and again—how do we keep that change alive through the ups and downs of real life, especially when it comes to relationships? This episode is deeply personal. I share how parenting challenges led me to seek divine guidance—and how something as simple as habit tracking helped me shift my heart and truly see my loved ones through God’s eyes. We talk about daily repentance, small and simple practices, and the power of intentionally recording one good thing about someone we may be struggling with. Whether you’re facing tension in a family relationship or seeking more light in your daily life, I hope this episode invites you to feel the love of Christ and experience your own mighty change of heart. Let’s keep learning how habits, perspective, and the Spirit can bring healing. Quote: “Changing one’s lifestyle is not easy. Often it requires you to change habits and practices and even associations to progress toward your loving Heavenly Father.” Elder Scott D. Whiting Journal Prompts: What could God’s perspective do for you in a challenging relationship? What daily practice will help you feel God’s love for you? What is one positive thing or behavior you see in someone you are frustrated with?
