  1. Deep Dive into American Gothic - The Lost "Potato Boy" Episode

Deep Dive into American Gothic - The Lost "Potato Boy" Episode

Send us a text with your comments and/or reviews! A lost episode of a cult 90s horror drama sent us down a rabbit hole we didn’t expect. We’re doing a deep dive into American Gothic, the dark series Shaun Cassidy created for network TV, and specifically the unaired episode called “Potato Boy.” The setup alone is chilling: a child’s hymn drifting from a forbidden house, a town that treats suffering like gossip, and a 10-year-old orphan, Caleb Temple, trying to figure out why every adult suddenly wants to “help” him. We walk through the episode’s biggest storylines and the questions they raise. Why does Sheriff Lucas Buck, played by the impossibly charming Gary Cole, seem jealous of anyone who gets close to Caleb? What does the “Potato Boy” legend actually symbolize in a show obsessed with conscience, choice, and the price of protection? And how do the subplots, like the deputy’s buried secret, Selena’s uneasy tutoring scene, and a communion moment that turns disturbing, all point back to the same theme: power works best when it makes you feel alone.  If you love supernatural television, gothic thrillers, or overlooked 1990s TV series with real bite, this conversation will give you a fresh lens on why American Gothic still sticks with people. Subscribe for more deep dives, share this with a friend who loves dark TV, and leave us a message with your favorite American Gothic episode and your theory about what “Potato Boy” really means. 2. Toni Gallagher: Producer, Writer & Shaun Cassidy Fan At Heart

Toni Gallagher: Producer, Writer & Shaun Cassidy Fan At Heart

Send us a text with your comments and/or reviews! We talk with writer and longtime TV producer Toni Gallagher, and Toni’s journey from Northwestern journalism dreams to early Hollywood jobs on The Tracy Ullman Show and at Steven Spielberg’s company, and then into the rise of reality television. She breaks down what “unscripted” actually means, how story editors build narrative from hundreds of hours of footage, and what producers can and can’t push on shows like The Real World, Road Rules, and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. If you’ve ever wondered how reality TV producers shape scenes without writing dialogue, you’ll get a clear, honest look at the process.  Then we get to the part that had us crying laughing: Toni’s hilarious “Dear Shaun” humor piece, published on Slackjaw on Medium, written like a teen fangirl letter with one tiny update, she’s 60 years old. We also dig into her middle grade books Twist My Charm: The Popularity Spell and the sequel, including the “happy positive voodoo doll” twist, friendship drama, and Ryder Landry, the fictional pop-star crush that proves every era has its teen idol.  If you love Shaun Cassidy, The Hardy Boys nostalgia, behind-the-scenes TV production, writing advice, or the joy of fan communities, you’ll feel right at home with us. Our Road To Shaun: A Three-City Adventure

Send us a text with your comments and/or reviews! This episode follows our adventures on The Road To Us Tour that started in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and ended in Des Plaines, Illinois. In order to meet our followers we did a live broadcast on Facebook, Shaun "tailgate" passing out goodie bags for fans arrival to the show, and ran a Shaun poster photo op--which kept the energy rising. The VIP Q&A peeled back layers on Shaun Cassidy’s career, while also hearing the story behind the now-beloved line “surprisingly good.”  In St. Charles, the goodie bags and photo ops continued in front of the theatre and an after-show get-together turned a slideshow into a Shaun scrapbook. We also met a fan in cancer treatment whose joy over a Shaun swag bag reminded us why small gestures count. In Des Plaines, threatening weather became an invitation when the venue welcomed us inside, gave us space, and helped us host a flowing photo op. A front-row ticket giveaway brought a listener from St. Louis, and a local radio personality stopped by for a picture.   If you love fan culture, tour stories, and the way music bridges decades, you’ll find a lot to hold onto here—laughs, Q&A gems, and the simple truth that showing up matters. If this resonated, tap follow, share it with a friend who needs a little 70s sparkle, and leave a quick review to help more fans find the show. A Community Remembers David Cassidy In West Orange NJ

Send us a text with your comments and/or reviews! A hometown tribute became something far bigger: a community rediscovering the power of a singular voice. We take you to West Orange NJ where David Cassidy fans, friends, and family gathered for a two-day celebration that felt like a living scrapbook—motorcade to Colgate Field, a full-sized Partridge bus backdrop, and a surprise that stopped everyone in their tracks. It wasn’t just nostalgia, it was proof of a vocalist whose depth and range still cut straight to the heart. And after the day-time festivities, by night, The Highlawn turned into a dance floor under city lights, with a David Cassidy tribute band and tables supporting charities like the "I Think I Love You" Foundation.  We also share the first deep look at Once Upon a Picture, David Cassidy.  This forthcoming, full-color hardcover book pairs Henry Diltz’s unreleased photos with David’s handwritten journal pages and dozens of interviews. Built chronologically, the book lets images do the storytelling while Henry’s memories reveal the trust, warmth, and craft behind them. The result is more than memorabilia—it’s a map of an artist’s life, told by a friend who was there. If you love music history, classic pop, or the legacy of a voice that deserved more, this is your front-row seat. Listen, remember, and then press play on the records again. If the story moved you, subscribe, share this episode with a fellow fan, and leave a review to help others find the show. Follow the Shaun Squad Society on: Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
