Ep 132: When the Small Thing Is Actually All the Things

Have you ever found yourself more upset about something than seemed to make sense on the surface, and then realized it was never really about just that thing at all? This is the last episode before summer break, and it may be just what you need to hear. This episode is about the iceberg, what we can see, and everything underneath that we can't, and how understanding that changes the way we process our own emotions and extend grace to the people around us. In This Episode You'll Learn ✔ Why the thing that finally breaks us is almost never actually the thing, and what to ask yourself when your reaction feels bigger than the moment ✔ The difference between writing something to release it and writing something you actually need to send ✔ How to voice something hard without making it an attack, vulnerability without weaponizing ✔ Why extending grace to others starts with extending it to yourself first ✔ How to recognize when you're avoiding sending something out of fear versus when the writing itself was truly enough ✔ The iceberg why we only ever see a fraction of what someone else is carrying, and how to let that shift the way you show up for the people in your life This Episode Is Especially Helpful If... You're in a season of transition, for yourself or your kids, and feelings are coming up that feel bigger than you expected You have something you've been wanting to say but aren't sure if you should, or how You tend to either stuff your feelings completely or go in with the whole list, and neither one is working You're carrying grief that doesn't feel "logical" and you're ready to stop making it right or wrong ____________________________________________ Click HERE for the Show Notes.  _____________________________________________________________________ Resources & Mentions 21-Day Self-Guided Journey Within somatic and breathwork practices for nervous system regulation, three minutes a day HERE  Lift Library for Workouts HERE Peace & Prosperity Coaching HERE   Loved This Episode? Ep 131: Anchored in the Now: Gratitude & Showing Up for the Season You're In

The good stuff is already in the here and now...  In this episode, Dorothy gets real about the beauty and the busyness of a season that's full,  Some people call it Maycember....soccer tournaments, dance recitals, baseball finals, end-of-school celebrations, and why that's exactly the time to slow down and anchor into gratitude. This one is a reminder that joy doesn't have to wait for completion. The process, the practice, the ordinary Tuesday morning? That's where life is happening. Dorothy also gets into something she sees a lot in the women she coaches: resistance to even wanting what you want. Whether it's a business, a relationship, a financial goal, or a creative dream, we can talk ourselves out of our own desires before we ever take a single step. This episode permits you to let those desires exist, without apology. In This Episode You'll Learn ✔ Why we tend to delay happiness until something is "done" and how to shift that ✔ How Dorothy's meditation practice taught her that the journey is the practice ✔ The connection between workouts, consistency, and letting go of all-or-nothing thinking ✔ Why resistance to your desires might be the thing quietly blocking your next level ✔ How other people's beliefs and judgments can sneak into the way you live your life and what to do about it ✔ A simple mindset shift for moving through seasons of change with more presence and peace This Episode Is Especially Helpful If... You're in a full, busy season and struggling to be present in the middle of it You keep waiting for the "big moment" to finally feel happy or satisfied You've been talking yourself out of something you really want You're in a life or season transition, birthday, summer, end of school, new chapter You want to build practices like meditation or movement that actually stick _____________________________________________________ Click HERE for the Show Notes.   _____________________________________________________________________  Ways to Work Together:  Within a 21-day self-guided journey to more peace and calm in your nervous system and life. HERE 2 Week Mini Coaching and Lift Library for 3 Months Details HERE Peace & Prosperity Coaching HERE   Loved this episode? Ep 129: Release the Control- Trusting Life to Fall Into Place

Release the Control: Trusting Life to Fall Into Place What if the thing standing between you and everything you desire… is your grip on how it has to happen? In this mini episode, Dorothy shares a real-life story about scheduling chaos, manifestation, and why releasing control might be the most powerful thing you can do. In This Episode You'll Learn ✔ Why focusing on how you want to feel is more powerful than controlling every detail ✔ The Abraham Hicks mantra that will shift your energy instantly: "Universe, show me how good it gets to be" ✔ How to tell if you truly believe you deserve good things, and what to do if you don't ✔ Why slowing down helps you hear your intuition more clearly ✔ How self-love and "negative" emotions like anger or sadness can coexist, and why that's actually healthy  This Episode Is Especially Helpful If… You're in a season of waiting and struggling to trust the outcome You tend to over-plan or white-knuckle your way through uncertainty You want to manifest more but feel like you might not fully believe you deserve it You're moving fast and feeling disconnected from your intuition You're ready to enjoy your life while working toward what you desire _____________________________________________________ Click HERE for the Show Notes.   _____________________________________________________________________  Ways to Work Together:  Within a 21-day self-guided journey to more peace and calm in your nervous system and life. HERE 2 Week Mini Coaching and Lift Library for 3 Months Details HERE Peace & Prosperity Coaching HERE      📲 Let’s Connect: Connect with me on Instagram - @dorothymcgatlin Connect with me on Facebook - Dorothy McGatlin

  5. Ep 128: More Fun, Less Pressure: 3 Shifts to Trust Yourself This Week

    May 12

Ep 128: More Fun, Less Pressure: 3 Shifts to Trust Yourself This Week

More Fun, Less Pressure: 3 Shifts to Trust Yourself This Week In this week’s episode of Trusting Dorothy, we’re leaning into spring energy, the feeling of moving toward summer, and choosing how you want this season of life to feel. This episode walks you through three simple but powerful shifts to help you trust yourself more, have more fun, and create more flow in your everyday life. We talk about what it looks like to stop making things harder than they need to be and instead bring more presence, joy, and lightness into your days, even when things aren’t perfect. Dorothy shares reflections from teaching her rebound class, motherhood moments (including a very honest Mother’s Day note), and how learning to hold two things at once, growth and self-acceptance, can completely change your experience. You’ll also hear how your thoughts shape your beliefs, your energy, and ultimately what you experience in your life. When you shift how you see yourself, you begin to create more of what you actually want. And finally, a reminder that you don’t have to be realistic with your dreams—but you also don’t have to do more to be worthy. You’re allowed to want big things and still feel deeply satisfied in the life you have right now. This episode is your invitation to: Have more fun and stop overcomplicating things Be present in your life as it is right now Shift the way you think about yourself and what’s possible Let go of pressure while still moving toward what you want Trust that things are always working out for you If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re putting too much pressure on yourself, this is your reset for the week. As always, check the show notes for ways to work with Dorothy or leave a review if you loved this episode. _____________________________________________________ Click HERE for the Show Notes.
