What If The Silence Is The Point

Send us Fan Mail Uncertainty isn’t a cute quote for us, it’s the real edge of living, creating, and healing. We reach the end of Season 8 by admitting something tender: not knowing what comes next can feel like a threat, even when you’re the person telling everyone to “lean into it.” That honesty becomes the doorway to a big decision, the Mindfully With Tunmise podcast takes a break until January, and we sit with what it means to pause without abandoning yourself. We also guide a calming, practical mindfulness body exercise you can return to whenever your shoulders rise and your mind races: soften the forehead, soften the eyes, notice the space between your ears, gently move the neck, then exhale with a deep sigh and let your shoulders drop. It’s a small reset with a big impact, especially if you’re carrying end-of-year stress, grief, or decision fatigue. Then we share what continues during the quiet season and introduce a major new release for anyone searching for healing language around family trauma and mental health: Her Mother’s Daughter When Leaving Becomes A Hazard. We talk about inherited pain, forgiveness, faith, and the quiet courage to break generational patterns before they become legacy, plus how to get the book locally and on Amazon. Finally, we ask a favour: send us your stories and questions so we can build a deeper, braver next season together, and we close with an end-of-year reflection on celebrating survival, honouring the off-seasons, and protecting your energy fiercely. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a softer landing, and leave a review so more listeners can find this space, what are you carrying into the new year? Rethinking Die Empty

Send us Fan Mail “Die empty” gets shared like a life hack, but I don’t think it survives contact with real life. I start from a small place, a Nigerian “I hail you”, and the way language can slide from genuine care into an unspoken demand. That one greeting opens up a bigger conversation about hustle culture, generational ambition, and the quiet fear that we’re falling behind. If you’ve ever felt judged by motivational quotes while carrying a complicated story, this one is for you.  We pause for mindfulness, too, because your body often tells the truth before your mouth can. I guide a simple check in where you picture who you thought you’d become, then acknowledge the work that got you here. From there, I bring in Oedipus Rex and The Gods Are Not to Blame to ask the questions tragedy forces on us: who knew what, what choices were even possible, and what happens when your life gets reduced to one flaw or one outcome.  Then we walk with Samson, a figure with an obvious gift, clear boundaries, painful consequences, and a final moment of agency that’s hard to label. Is it redemption, revenge, purpose, or regret? I use his story to push back on productivity pressure and the idea that your worth is measured by how much you “empty” before you die. You’ll leave with a sharper lens on purpose, hindsight, impact, and what it can mean to live well in the transitions.  If this resonates, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a rating or review so more people can find the show. The Absalom In Me

Send us Fan Mail Power doesn’t only corrupt the villains. Sometimes it simply goes unexamined, gets called “normal,” and quietly reshapes how we treat people who cannot easily say no to us. We start with a mindful reset for your nervous system, because real mental health work begins with noticing, not judging: feet grounded, shoulders relaxed, one breath at a time, even if you’re in the middle of a loud day.  Then we step into a difficult biblical story with a very modern edge: Absalom, son of King David. I’m not here to make a case for him or to put him on a moral trial. I’m here to ask what happens when legitimate pain collides with extraordinary privilege and a weak relationship to accountability. We talk about Tamar’s violation, the reality of trauma, and why anger can be understandable and still dangerous. We also name how faith communities can struggle to hold emotional truth without turning it into “lack of faith,” and why safe spaces for honest conversations are essential for healing.  From there, we run a gentle “privilege test” that turns the spotlight toward everyday power dynamics: Where do people listen to you more easily? Who might find it hard to refuse you? When does influence become manipulation, and when does justice become revenge? Privilege isn’t a moral achievement, and you may not have “earned” it, but once you can see it, it becomes your responsibility. We close with a practical social mirror exercise and one small change to work on this week, plus a legacy question I keep coming back to: how do you want to be remembered when you discover the power you hold?  If this lands with you, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find these mindful conversations on mental health, privilege, accountability, trauma, and healing. You Are Not Your Thoughts, Even When They Feel True

Send us Fan Mail October doesn’t just change the weather, it turns up the volume on the questions we avoid. We start Mental Health Awareness Month by telling the origin stories behind this podcast, the microphone, and my ongoing work of holding faith alongside real mental health questions, including living with bipolar affective disorder. If you’ve ever felt torn between spirituality and psychology, or judged for naming what you feel, this conversation makes space for you to breathe and think again.  We move through a grounded mindfulness framework (stop, breathe, notice, reflect, respond, and resolve) and keep returning to one stabilising theme: curiosity. Curiosity helps us research, name anxiety and fear without spiralling, and come back to the truth when the nervous system is on edge. Along the way, we take a few guided pauses to soften the jaw, drop the shoulders, and place a hand on the chest, not to “fix” anything, but to arrive with kindness.  Then we go straight to the identity struggle many of us carry: who am I beneath what I have, what I achieve, what people think, what I feel, and my worst moments. I share what “Black In His Image” means to me and why I believe the facts around us can be loud without being the final truth. You’ll leave with simple homework: notice the inner voice, pause before you accept the thought, and remember you don’t have to believe everything you think.  If this resonates, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs a softer voice today, and leave a review so more people can find this faith and mental health grounded mindfulness podcast. Anxiety, Faith, And The Tug Toward Certainty

Send us Fan Mail The need to control can feel like wisdom, responsibility, even love, until you notice what it’s doing to your body. I’m sharing a personal reflection on why visibility still scares me sometimes, how privacy became harder once audio turned visual, and why World Podcast Day brought up more than celebration. If you’ve ever felt anxious about how people perceive you, who gets access to you, or what happens when you loosen your grip, you’re not alone.  Along the way, I guide two short mindful pauses that start with one simple instruction: just notice. We place a hand where sensation shows up, breathe into that spot, and practise staying with what’s true without getting pulled into panic. Then I turn to the story of Rebecca and Isaac to explore how family dynamics, prophecy, preference, and fear can shape outcomes when everyone is trying to control the ending. It’s less about judging them and more about holding up a mirror to our own relationships at home, at work, and with ourselves.  I also talk about anxiety in a way that might surprise you: sometimes anxiety isn’t “bad,” it’s a protector. Drawing on Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy language, I explore how anxious parts can form after real danger or trauma and keep operating from old pain. The goal isn’t to erase anxiety, but to help it soften and right-size to the safety of the present moment, using compassion and love instead of criticism.  If this helped you breathe a little easier, subscribe, share it with someone who needs it, and leave a review so more listeners can find the show. When Your Villain Shows Up For A Hug

Send us Fan Mail Someone can scream down a waiting room one day and hug you gently the next and both moments can be true. That uncomfortable whiplash is where this Mindfully With Tunmise story begins: a hospital attendant who once exposed an elderly man’s vulnerability returns four days later to cheers from her colleagues and an unexpected hug for me. My mind wants a clean conclusion, a single label, a simple “that’s who she is.” Life refuses to cooperate. We use that moment to examine first impressions, judgment, and the stories we write too quickly about people. I talk about why “don’t judge people in the chapter you met them” can grate on the nerves when your feelings are real, and why mindfulness is not denial. We explore emotional regulation, empathy, and self-compassion through a more honest question: how do we honour the impact someone had on us without reducing their whole humanity to that moment? I also share how living with a mood disorder can shape the way we scan for worst-case scenarios and wait for the other shoe to drop. Along the way, I invite you into a brief mindful breathing pause, then a mirror-check that stays with you after the audio ends: When have I reduced a person to the moment I met them, and when have I reduced myself to a bad day? If you’ve ever been held hostage by a first impression or you’ve done it to someone else, this reflection offers a calmer, clearer way forward. Subscribe, share with a friend who overthinks like we do, and please leave a rating and review so more mindful partners can find the show. Leading From Inner Alignment

Send us Fan Mail “How are you” is a leadership question, not small talk, and we start there with a breath that helps the body catch up to the pace of the mind.  Then we sit down with Adeolu Adewumi -ZER founder of ZER Consulting AFRICA and a lifelong Afro-optimist, to talk about what happens when excellence, identity, and responsibility collide with the quiet truth of what you actually need. We get into inner alignment as a practical tool for decision making. Adeolu shares how her North Star shaped everything from moving across countries to returning to Nigeria after decades abroad, and why pride in culture matters when a nation is tempted to narrate itself with defeat.  We also unpack the first-daughter “good girl” conditioning, people pleasing, and the moment boundaries become non-negotiable.  If you have ever wondered whether you’re chasing a goal because you want it or because achievement feels like your only safe identity, you’ll feel seen here. The conversation turns to the hidden tension many high-achieving married women manage, and why leaving a prestigious corporate role can be an act of clarity.  Adeolu explains the leap into entrepreneurship and what ZER Consulting AFRICA does for african business growth and leadership development, helping companies scale from $1 million to $100 million through strategy, excellence, leadership, governance, and impact.  We close with the real-life habits that make sustainable leadership possible, including her Friday night Netflix and chocolate reset, and why mindfulness matters in Nigeria’s cultural transition. Subscribe so you do not miss what comes next, share this with a friend who needs a North Star, and leave a review if the conversation helps you lead with more honesty and less noise. Dignity In Vulnerability

Send us Fan Mail Someone’s private pain got shouted across a hospital waiting room, and I couldn’t stop thinking about what that does to a person’s dignity. That moment turns into a bigger question about men’s mental health: when vulnerability is exposed, mocked, or “managed” by other people, where is a man supposed to put his fear, grief, and uncertainty safely?  We start gently, with an arrival practice that brings you back into your body through a shoulder release and belly breathing, because mindfulness is not a performance. From there, I tell the waiting room story and the uncomfortable truth behind it: sarcastic humour often shows up when someone is trying to survive shame. We unpack the social training many men grow up with “be strong, provide, protect, figure it out” and why the real crisis may be that many men were never taught the language of vulnerability, only the skill of endurance.  Then we walk with Jabez and the meaning of names, identity, and beginnings. The Prayer of Jabez hits differently when you notice the line “keep me from pain” and when you see honour sitting beside a painful origin story. I connect that to Fight for Life and to the everyday courage of saying, “this hurts,” “I’m scared,” and “I need help,” without losing dignity.  If this resonates, listen through, share it with someone you love, and subscribe so you don’t miss what we unpack next. After you listen, leave a review and tell us: what would it take for vulnerability to feel safe in your life?
