The Heretical Heart Podcast

The Heretical Heart is where I tell the truth about what it actually takes to build a life that feels like yours, especially the one you're finally ready to stop performing. I have honest conversations about Human Design, money patterns, intuition, grief, and the real work of shedding conditioning that was never yours to carry in the first place. I'm Aypril Porter, founder of The Heretical Heart™. I work with women in midlife, from cashiers to CEOs, who are done performing their way through life and ready to build from who they actually are. Midlife Isn't Falling Apart. It's Your Human Design Profile Line Waking Up.

Somewhere around forty, forty-five, fifty, women start describing the same experience in wildly different language. One can't stop researching. One is just done, doesn't want to do any of it anymore. One's tried everything and nothing sticks. One's circle got very small, very fast. One's tired of rescuing everyone. One's whole life just came apart at once. They all think something's wrong with them. What's actually happening is that a piece of their Human Design chart that's been running quietly in the background their whole life just got turned up to full volume: their profile line. In this episode: What a profile line actually is, and why midlife turns the volume up on it instead of letting it blend quietly the way it used toWhat each of the six lines looks like when it takes over in midlife, from the investigator stuck in research mode to the sixth line staring down her Chiron returnThe shadow and the wisdom hiding in whichever line is running you right nowWhy you're carrying two of these lines, not one, and what that means for this exact chapter This isn't a personality quiz. It's the mechanic underneath why this decade is asking something different of you than the last one did. Want to know exactly which two lines you're carrying and what this chapter is asking of you? Gate 18- Being Right vs. Being Received

You're standing in your mother's kitchen, and you can see exactly where it's going wrong. The words are already halfway out of your mouth. This week the sun moves through Gate 18, the Gate of Correction (Work on What Has Been Spoilt), which Karen Curry Parker calls Re-Alignment in Quantum Human Design. This is the part of all of us wired to notice patterns and see what's off. It's why anything ever improves. Every family pattern someone finally refused to pass down started here. Here's the catch. Gate 18 lives in a projected channel, so your insight lands when it's invited. When it isn't, it lands as criticism. Being right and being received are two different things, and this week is here to teach you the difference. In this episode: What Gate 18 is, and why the spleen's knowing only speaks onceWhy the truth you tell without an invitation turns into bitternessTwo questions to ask before you say the thingHow to ask for the invitation, and what to do when the answer is noThe inner critic in the bathroom mirror, who never invited that correction eitherA day-by-day walk through all six lines, Saturday, Sept 26 through Thursday, Oct 1 Where is Gate 18 showing up for you right now? Midlife Isn't a Glow-Up, It's a Death

Menopause is having a moment right now; everyone's talking about the empowerment on the other side of it. What's missing from that conversation is what has to die first. In this episode, I'm reading a post I wrote called "Midlife Isn't a Glow Up, It's a Death." My core wound and my vocation both show up as Gate 42 in my Human Design chart, the gate of endings, so I get a double dose: I live this, and it's my work to hold space for others moving through it. We talk about why grief that gets skipped doesn't disappear; it just gets stuck and starts attracting more of what's making you sad. Why the identity death of midlife (the end of being a reproductive being, the empty nest, sometimes the marriage) deserves its own grief, separate from whatever comes after it. And what's actually available on the other side: a woman who's warmed up to herself, whose boundaries are clear not because she's cold but because she finally knows herself. Your Body Already Knows. Bach Flowers Just Help You Listen.

Your mind isn't where you know things. Your body is. This week I'm talking with Tracy Poizner, a homeopath and Bach flower expert who's spent nearly three decades working with vibrational medicine, and who's now built something I've never seen before: custom Bach flower blends mapped to each Human Design energy type. We get into what these blends actually are, how they work at a level beneath biochemistry, and why one of her clients described the shift as "I don't feel like I have to justify my self-worth anymore." We also talk about what happens when a Manifestor gets asked to track their own deconditioning process (spoiler: it's not easy), and why the anger so many Manifestor women carry isn't the problem people think it is. This isn't about bypassing the work. It's about giving your nervous system a faster way in. In this episode: What Bach flower essences actually are, and how they're different from homeopathyWhy the information matters more than the substance carrying itHow Tracy accidentally discovered the human design pairing at a networking eventWhat shifted for her clients, in their own wordsWhy Manifestors were the hardest group to get through the processThe anger Manifestor women carry, and why "let it out" isn't always the full answerWhere profile and authority-specific blends might be headed next Links and resources mentioned: Tracy's websiteHuman Design blends Disclaimer: This conversation touches on trauma, anger, and family conditioning. If any of it stirs something up in you, that's the work doing its job, and it's also worth having real support around you while you move through it.
